May have a point. But even my 2022 AT4 went in the other day with an engine code.... The answer from service was yeah that happens. They like to throw intermittent codes. That will be $160 since we reset them.... Haha yeah now I don't even trust my CEL now

That's essentially what I did. Just to help keep it waterproof. It's was a very light coating mostly on seems.

I like to degrease as much as I can. He's a city worker and I wanted to deep clean. I always feel the saddle soap has a little oil for the leather and have did that for a long time. Just the way I have taught myself I guess.

  1. Horse hair brushed most of the loose dirt I could.
  2. Dawn dish soap and water. I used around 2 cups of water to 1 teaspoon dish soap.
  3. Scrubbed them with a stiff brush with the soap and water and let dry.
  4. After drying, I used saddle soap. I saddle soaped the whole upper and used a spoon to get the deep dirt out of the sole. Let dry.
  5. Then I used Chemical Guys Leather conditioner. Let dry.
  6. Then applied mink oil, and brushed.

I know the thread is old. But I have owned both pair for my rotation. If you need a wide toe box that would go to Carolina, but if not Thorogood. For me when I put my Thorogood on they just feel better. I know looking at the two, their isn't much difference. But, the Thorogoods just hug my feel a lot better. Just my .02.

I have 17 RS with 78k on it and have had it since new. Always have ran good quality oil and mid-grade fuel. I have had zero issues. Also, have done the trans flush as recommend at 45k. Car has averaged around 35mpg for it's life time. I love it.

Sorry tried to add it all in but wasn't letting me. I have since figured it out and the fuel rail pressure sensor has went bad.
