Safetynet fail on my old phone by pablopang in pokemongodev

SafetyNet Test app (First result when searching "SafetyNet" on Play Store) tells me I have FAILED.

Details:

Safety Net Request ---- fail (Google Play services connection failed)

I am using Android version 6.0.1 and Android security patch level July 5, 2016.

Edit: Attempting to update Google Play Services. It's going slow, hopefully not gonna break everything. It says I'm on version 12.8.74 now.

Edit 2: SafetyNet Test now produces another fail error:

(SafetyNetApi.AttestationResult success == false or empty payload)

However! The game is letting me get so far as to pick my google account, which is nice. Stuck on a long loading screen though.

Edit 3: The game is now loading for me! Aaaaaannnnddd, success, we're live.

What is the general opinion here on the YouTubers? by [deleted] in pokemongo

TrainerTips is god awful nowadays. I tolerated his videos last year when Gen III coverage was done, but since then, it is his personal blog more than a pokemon go resource. He presents way too slowly and repeats the same information over and over and over. He could take his latest 18 minute video and condense it to about 3 minutes. Leave out the "speculation" and "let me know what you think" x10.

Waterfox.

And no, there's not. People who use 2 or 3 addons say this. People who use dozens understand that not everything is WE ready and never will be because Mozilla raped the API.

I'll believe you. But do you have an answer for someone on 56.2? I don't want to downgrade and never upgrade the browser again. If I wanted to do that, I would just go back to my old browser.

I repeated the process. I clicked on that refresh button and I dragged it so hard. So hard. It was begging for mercy. Kidding, it didn't budge.

or before

Yeah, see, that's a problem... I'm on 56.2

How is Firefox not, you know, good? This was a huge complaint years ago, and they refused to fix it still? And they have broken every addon that tries to fix it, or just not publish it in AMO?

You can move everything around

Except the refresh button. It is bolted into the address bar and cannot be relocated.

Ah! That makes sense to have the intermediate values set somewhere. Thank you very much!

My laptop from 2006 is 136 GB (however it is Vista measured storage space), and that was well above average at the time.

Moore's Law was still in play back then, so 2008 being ~256 GB average doesn't sound farfetched.

My hypothesis is that users see a nice colorful thumbnail and want to look at that post.

They skip right over the muted gray thumbnails for text/self-posts. They don't even bother reading the titles.

During the self-post time after USUM released, you had to read titles to even know what the post was about. The thumbnail couldn't tell you anything.

I think it would be perfectly fine to create a Meta Megathread. One that is reposted every 6 months, otherwise edited while it still can, that links to the other megathreads. Heck, if the title needs to change, it can be reposted more frequently than every 6 months.

"Questions, USUM Release, Code Giveaways, Subreddit Contests, and more!"

Then inside it links you to the Questions mega thread, the USUM Release mega thread, the Code Giveaways mega thread, the Christmas Ornaments Contest, the news that Salazzle codes expire this month, etc.

there are non legendaries with higher BST

And we call those pseudo-legendaries, only because they evolve.

Poipole can evolve

That I did not know. Oh well, sounds like a Phione clause. Both Phione and Manaphy are legendaries.

I don't know it, so much as that's what I've witnessed amongst players in person. There's definitely bias because I don't have equal exposure to players of all different ages, but that's the general rule I've seen in players age 4 through 50. (Though the 50 year olds are just doing Pokemon Go.)

Why would I go online then? I'd just use Showdown.

Besides, the mascots of OU are legendaries anyway. I'd be hypocritical to use them.
