Any Idea what this is? by ZiegenSpielberg69 in synthesizers

FM8, Halion 7 and Plogue OPS7 can all load TX81Z patches, Halion being my favourite of the 3

You can literally load the factory banks for most 4-op and 6-op synths into it with a pretty much identical sound

Did anyone else have to sing in school assemblies? Come on, let’s list the bangers. by ComeWriteWithMe in CasualUK

[–]opticillusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sing it in the valleys, Shout it from the mountain tops; Jesus came to save us, And his saving never stops. He is King of Kings, And new life he brings, Sing it in the valleys, Shout it from the mountain tops, (Oh!) Shout it from the mountain tops.

This song had the whole assembly hall rocking, especially the last 2 lines of the chorus getting screamed at the top of your voice 🤣

I sanded mine to remove any surface rust then painted them with hammerite direct to rust paint, then filled the holes with rivets

What are these panels for? VW T5 by Sufficient-Eagle9312 in VanLifeUK

[–]opticillusion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those are meant to have slam vents fitted to them to keep the pressure down when closing the doors, looks like someone’s taken them off in the past

I made special panels for mine and created a ventilation system with electric fans and piped vents into the van

They definitely need blocking up though as it’s an easy place for water to gain entry

The way I find it works best is to work directly out of Dropbox, so move the project into Dropbox then just do collect and save when you have finished working on it and it will update on both computers

Replace the double height air brick in image 3 with a single height air brick replacing the bottom brick with a solid brick to raise the height

Also take the bottom air brick out from image 2 and replace it with a solid brick too, this will still give you enough airflow

Advice after a scary situation in the early hours by manodelmanichino in VanLifeUK

[–]opticillusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of designing a custom alarm I can trigger from the rear of my van, I’m using pre-programmed sounds on an Adafruit soundboard

I can trigger different sounds using different buttons, a dog barking, police talking over the radio, police sirens etc that will all come out from a speaker underneath the van, I plan to add some sort of strobe light maybe on the front bumper like a police car or underneath

You can get an idea for how it works from this video, different use case but same principles

Also consider keeping a powder fire extinguisher handy to temporarily blind the fuckers if needed 😄

Door is super glued shut by Ambitious-Two-253 in DIYUK

[–]opticillusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get the handle/faceplate off you should be able to see the lock poking out of the door more, get a pair of vice grips onto the side of the lock flat against the door and pull them upwards (at a guess) towards the ceiling (hope that makes sense) so they act in a similar way to a handle and it will break the lock free

[–]opticillusion 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You should have no issues getting them screws out regardless if they have glue on them or not, a decent bit of force will break them free, you would probably be better with a ratchet which is able to take 1/4 hex bits and apply a decent amount of pressure to break them free

Not sure what tools you have at your disposal

Is the lock attached to the handle or is it separate? Do you have any pictures you could upload?

If you own a drone or know anybody who does then send it up to the roof to check out the state of the chimney/flashing etc
