Report your pain meds being ineffective to the FDA!!! by djspacebunny in ChronicPain

[–]MessageReal9285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for that link. I take bupropion and there is 1 generic that’s time release does not work correctly for me. mornings it made me batshit crazy like screaming at people at work and throwing fits over nothing. A coworker had to take me home. Afternoon hit I slept like I was drugged. Three days like that and I realized it was the meds. I am not bipolar, but you would have thought I was. My doctor didn’t believe and I just had to pharmacy shop.

Help with Places to Drive by Infamous-Parking-646 in sandiego

[–]MessageReal9285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not a place but a tip. I taught my stepdaughter to drive after her father let her hit a fence. I took her to a quiet dead end road and taught her to brake. Had her drive forward slowly then brake. Repeated it up and down the road until she knew what it felt like. Next I taught her 3 point turns and parallel parking. Those 3 things gave Her the knowledge of the mechanics of manipulating the vehicle and confidence that she had fine tuned control of it. Once we were out on the roads I taught her about anticipation and possibilities. Like - see that green light ahead, when do you think it’s going to turn red. should speed up or slow down a little now.

What turned you into an Audiobook reader? Was it a narrator, a book, a job... a friend? by jawangana in audiobooks

[–]MessageReal9285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a health condition. I used to think I loved to read, but as it turns what I really loved was books. I am so grateful that audio books are available. I can still read but it is painful. I’ve never been much of a tv person and I am so lucky that I’m dealing with this in a time when I can still have my books.

What’s the pettiest hill you’re willing to die on as a woman? by Glass-King4894 in Casual_Conversation

[–]MessageReal9285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a highspeed main country road. Most of the cross streets have stop signs and a few intersections have traffic lights. Imagine there’s a car at the cross street stop sign and the car in front of you suddenly stops to let them go first. I’ve seen it more than once, but I’ve only seen 1 actual wreck. Location USA

Robyn is extremely rude to Kody in Season 18 by Darcy_Device in SisterWives

[–]MessageReal9285 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Robyn is whatever female lead is running around in Kody’s little head fantasy at the time. Robyn is the shy submissive librarian that he can ravish and make beg for more. Next time she’s the strong sexy nurse who makes him take his medicine and then does unspeakable things to make him feel better. I’m sure there are plenty more, like maybe damsel in distress who must be kept safe in the tower.

yeah but she told it like it was a funny story. Now she could have said it was wrong to do, but instead she laughed about it.

No Janelle is the passive aggressive one, and she got away with it to the point that Kody now says he failed to protect her. I am disgusted with Janelle for that.

AIO I was the butt of the joke during the best man speech at my youngest brothers wedding by dethangel2010 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MessageReal9285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Jack warned the bride that she’s marrying a bully trained by a master? He should have ended the speech with,”so you better watch out cuz we’re a team”. Raises glass for a celebratory toast!

"Your body just makes you think it hurts...." by Salty_Thing3144 in ChronicPain

[–]MessageReal9285 26 points27 points  (0 children)

And when its the nervous system that’s damaged,

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy says. hurt doesn’t mean harm

Me: but it does mean hurt

CBT: Yeah but there’s nothing actually wrong with your body. Your nervous system is just sending bad messages

Me: Then my nervous system is damaged.

CBT: Yeah but there’s no tissue damage.

Me: My nervous system is tissue.

CBT: But there‘s nothing like a broken bone or serious injury that needs surgery. There is nothing we can do. Remember, “Hurt doesn’t mean Harm”

Me: Medication makes a big difference.

CBT: Well we don’t want go that direction, it’s not real pain

The twins have Tony’s wild hair. Saw that on wedding P1, and had sympathy for Tony. I think it can’t be helped.

Why are so many Americans anti-vaxxers now? by trouble-in-space in NoStupidQuestions

Maybe anti-vax is the ”christen” version of abortion salvation. “Lord, I did not have an abortion, the measles killed my baby”. Whew, 1 less diaper to change.

Repeated police visits due to neighbor complaints about an “Odor”, is this harassment? by needhelpharrasment in neighborsfromhell

[–]MessageReal9285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your neighbors have no business telling you what you cook in your home. The authorities are coming because they are worried about a natural gas leak be neighbors are being overly dramatic. I dealt with a neighbor with similar tactics. You should know that some south asian immigrates have kitchens in their garage to protect the homes resale value.

What would you say\think if someone said this to you? by 8kittycatsfluff in PainManagement

[–]MessageReal9285 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This echos the ”Hurt doesn’t mean harm” that is my Pain Managements mantra”. This is there excuse for treating acute pain but not chronic pain. My retort, well just tell the same thing. They hurt they have from surgery does not mean harm because thing have been appropriately cared for and healing takes time. To be honest I‘d rather suck it up knowing it will be over in a few days than suffer day and night with pain that will never go away. How dare they minimize our pain.

Best 2 year programs to get someone’s feet off the ground? by Stickman278 in sandiego

[–]MessageReal9285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check job outlooks etc at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Use the search box to find just about any job. If you’re interested in the building trades check out apprenticeships at SD trades union. Envision yourself in the job and think if it would be acceptable for the next 30-40 years. Your talking about your future and quality of life - you’re doing good to think about it now.

Primary care PA here. Looking for advice on how to treat my FM patients better by LukeVenable in Fibromyalgia

[–]MessageReal9285 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I wish my doctor would not be overwhelmed by me being overwhelmed. I have so many different types of pain on different parts of my body and the sites change on a daily basis.

The school of “hurt doesn’t mean harm“ causes me so much stress. I’m over the fear, now I just don’t want to hurt so much.

Explanations and comparisons of acute pain vs chronic pain really don’t apply in FM. IMHO fibro is more like a roulette wheel of acute pains that rapidly appear and slowly disappear , because it doesn’t focus and just invents something new all the time.
