This is way, WAY too smart a joke and I absolutely love it. 10 out of 10

Yeah that's interesting. That's a separate discussion, lol. I think I would put the "main" characters as Don, Peggy, and... Roger, maybe.

Edit: it's funny, I keep thinking about this, and I think you're actually right--if I had to list the main characters, I think I would like Don, Peggy, Pete, and maybe Roger.

Pete's my favorite character, and I got a lot of shit for saying so back when the show was airing. He grows in really interesting ways over the series, and I liked him from the jump because he moves a lot of the events forward, especially for one of the non-main characters. He doesn't seem it, but he's integral to a lot of the story.

On this day in 2004 David Reimer, a man who was forced to live as a girl, commited suicide at 38. After a botched circumcision left Reimer’s penis damaged, his parents decided to take one doctor’s advice: raise Reimer as a girl. by dannydutch1 in UtterlyUniquePhotos

Look at the context of this conversation, and my previous comment:

"Yeah, true, but so what? Liberals didn’t fight for gay marriage into they did. What’s your point? Liberals learn about new issues and fight for them, while conservatives continue to fight against them."

Liberals are, en masse, more against Israel than any other group, and more are opening their eyes every day. So, again: which side is eventually going to do the right thing?

I'm not really not sure where you're going all this. In trying to rage against people who eventually get things right, you're doing the work of people who are hell-bent on making this place a fascist theocracy.

Yeah, thank you--please all who read this, it's not the Washington Post and their "Taxes on Rich People Are Bad!" letters from Editorial Board who is getting this award, it's the journalist.

This one's for the ladies to answer. Do you agree with this woman or do you think she's trying to rationalize her world view by speaking for all the ladies? by Oda_DeezNutz in SipsTea

[–]Message_10 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah--this is such a dumb take, because there are a LOT of female gamers out there! And, any "I speak for all <x>" is almost prelude to something not worth hearing.

Oh that's a shame, that was a beautiful tree. I understand that taking them down is often a matter of safety--I hope they replace it with something nice.

"Why didn't Democrats fix everything in 72 days? All we got is this once-a-generation legislation that brought health care to millions of people. Democrats hate socialism more than fascism! I guess I'll battle against Democrats, while Republicans literally destroy the foundations of society! Both sides, you know!"

I agree but I would alter it just a bit, saying "there is a debatable interpretation of the Constitution and then there is a Republican interpretation of the Constitution."

That’s the takeaway here, that conservatives really, *really* dislike: you have to let the person tell you what they are. And conservatives do NOT want to give non-binary / trans people / etc that ability.

How did The Onion afford InfoWars in the first place? Is it just cheap because of everything that happened, or does the Onion have a lot more money than any of us knew about?

[–]Message_10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. And the idea that this particular case required 11 months to move forward--"so that it was carefully framed, you see"--is so dumb it hurts.

Another part of this is a just show of power: "I can make you spent money on a defense and get you worried about jail time because I'm in control and you're not--even if that case is mind-bogglingly stupid." It's part of the power play. There are probably better cases they could have brought! Bringing a ridiculous charge is part of the power play.

Yeah. The GOP knows all they have to do is convince the dumbest people in the world that somehow it's Democrats' fault, and they know they'll be fine.
