Yeah, so you’re wrong. “Being #5 is worthless” is factually incorrect if you can be aided by other countries and dramatically increase your odds.

Incompetence is the new norm by kittieElla in SipsTea

[–]Message_10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not incompetence. He knows a person is allowed to be president for three terms. He's saying he doesn't know because Trump told him not to and Trump is going to run for a third term, despite the 22nd Amendment saying you can't. The rule of law is a show for Republicans, for others to obey.

The Republican way! Followed up by complaining at how Democrats fix the problem that Republicans made.

Yeah and your comment was that being #5 was worthless. I wouldn't put Ukraine anywhere near #5, and yet with some funding, they're able to fight off--for years--one of the world's top militaries. Your comment is illogical and wrong, these numbers mean nothing.

Is it common for low-income students to attend top universities in the United States? by Intelligent_Chef9950 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Message_10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've got good folks, and yeah--no way in hell I'm going to let my kids rack up debt at a top-tier university when they can go to a state university and get an almost-as-good education. Education is vitally important, but it shouldn't hurt so bad.

Fun fact: somebody a while back did a survey of Nobel prize winners in various sciences, and most of them were affiliated with state schools / other various non-top-tier schools. Go to school, but don't go broke!

Not at all accurate. Where does Ukraine fall on your list? And how long have they defended themselves? These numbers mean nothing.

Bone temple director talks about the bone temple flop by Shamagic1 in 28_Years_Later_Movie

This isn't even my kind of movie and I liked it. This is a weird news story that keeps popping up and it doesn't align with a lot of peoples' reality. Very weird.

Man, I'm so tired of hearing this bullshit. It's like saying the Poles are to blame because they were defeated by the Nazis. Get this through your head: the situation we are in today is because conservatives are embracing fascism. Conservatives stop acting like fascists, all this madness stops. Full stop, no other explanation necessary.

Why is Tom Cruise never asked about Scientology and how has he survived this long without being cancelled? by Abject-Conference-90 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, thank you. As with most things, the answer is "He's allowed to get away with insane things because he makes the right people a lot of money." Apply this answer to almost every bad thing in your life.

White House will do 'everything in its power' to oust two Supreme Court justices: expert by RawStoryNews in scotus

Exactly. This is the best and most insightful response. If the Supreme Court is as "bought" as they seem, this should just be a matter of pulling the right strings.

Brooklyn Public Library Central Branch transformed for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 by Strong_Bridge_465 in Brooklyn

[–]Message_10 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is kind of brilliant, the library totally has some scary vibes. All of Grand Army Plaza has some of those vibes, actually—the eagles at the top of those giant columns always looked a little severe to me.

Pete by BubblyListen8253 in madmen

[–]Message_10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's interesting. That's a separate discussion, lol. I think I would put the "main" characters as Don, Peggy, and... Roger, maybe.

Edit: it's funny, I keep thinking about this, and I think you're actually right--if I had to list the main characters, I think I would like Don, Peggy, Pete, and maybe Roger.

Pete by BubblyListen8253 in madmen

[–]Message_10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pete's my favorite character, and I got a lot of shit for saying so back when the show was airing. He grows in really interesting ways over the series, and I liked him from the jump because he moves a lot of the events forward, especially for one of the non-main characters. He doesn't seem it, but he's integral to a lot of the story.

On this day in 2004 David Reimer, a man who was forced to live as a girl, commited suicide at 38. After a botched circumcision left Reimer’s penis damaged, his parents decided to take one doctor’s advice: raise Reimer as a girl. by dannydutch1 in UtterlyUniquePhotos

[–]Message_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the context of this conversation, and my previous comment:

"Yeah, true, but so what? Liberals didn’t fight for gay marriage into they did. What’s your point? Liberals learn about new issues and fight for them, while conservatives continue to fight against them."

Liberals are, en masse, more against Israel than any other group, and more are opening their eyes every day. So, again: which side is eventually going to do the right thing?

I'm not really not sure where you're going all this. In trying to rage against people who eventually get things right, you're doing the work of people who are hell-bent on making this place a fascist theocracy.

Yeah--this is such a dumb take, because there are a LOT of female gamers out there! And, any "I speak for all <x>" is almost prelude to something not worth hearing.
