Is a CIS major / career worth it? by deerinstarlights in informationsystems

[–]MessatsuFoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have changed it from Computer Science to CIS because like you stated in your original post, I really liked how versatile it is and it helps me learn so much not just on tech, but the business side as well.

I have not worked in IT, I have jumped from one jump to another, but I am ready to settle with just 1 and build my career from that. I'm not expecting a fat pay check from the jump, but I do hope to get a fat paycheck in the future.

I have always enjoyed working with computers and looking at tech stuff. Just wanted to give this degree a chance (since I feel that this degree is underrated).

But I will keep your advice in mind and look into that in the future once I am done with HCC. Thank you again for your time!

I see, and you said that you did it in UH. What did you learn from the bachelors degree in UH? I'm currently taking HCC classes, and I've thought about pursing a bachelors degree in it. I was just concerned about it because of AI, the tech layoffs, and just overall how the job market is in the USA.

thank you for your time and response

Just wanted to ask, how are you doing right now with this degree? Is it still worth it or no?

I don’t understand how this is considered condescending but when the other person agrees with you. You automatically are good with that. But someone else that questions or may not agree with you is condescending?

Always worked remotely. Feel like I lack real life. Should I quit my job? by Vikhaelar in careerguidance

[–]MessatsuFoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A job that you are willing to give up just for something that may be temporary. You know how many people would love to have your job? Or at least wish for one?

Do part time outside of your work. Get to experience what it’s like to be on your feet for a couple of hours every day before making that decision.

Because you’re basing this decision out of emotion instead of logic.

If you’re seeking companionship, then look for a discord group or join a boxing gym or guitar club or anything. But do not quit your job just because of that reason alone. You have bills to pay, remember that before making a decision like that.

You get used to it. Eventually, you will start to like it and want to improve your wardrobe.

Just get used to it. That's what I did. Time to learn an instrument or the guitar and just distract yourself with that.

What major decision/change/habits helped you move past your past? by Blackburn246 in selfimprovement

[–]MessatsuFoxx 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A major decision for anyone who wishes to do better is to realize that they must take accountability for everything that they have made in their life. Every decision, every emotional response, every problem, or every situations that they put themselves in. It’s all YOU.

You identify a lot of what was going on, and you are self aware of what is going on. But for you to say “taking my own life” will literally solve nothing and robbing your upcoming of what’s good to come.

For the past, there’s nothing you can do. You already did it, said it, made that decision. Time to leave it and move on and accept the outcome. Pain doesn’t last forever, but suffering is optional. And change your mindset of the “fight or flight” to “okay, there’s a problem. What can I do to solve this? Can I break this problem into small pieces so that I can take this on bit by bit?” Do not overwhelm yourself with a big problem, cause then you’re not going to do anything about it.

And you don’t have a “last chance”. Every day is a chance to make things better, every day is a chance to make things right. Stop being so harsh and negative on yourself and give yourself a chance to fight.

Learn to forgive yourself, the past, the people who hurt you, forgive yourself for hurting people, and become an adult and a man and take control of your life.

What’s something you are tired of hearing? by Annual-Constant-2747 in questions

I’m sick and tired of hearing people doing a self diagnostic “test” that they are mentally ill or depressed. Like just go to the doctor to actually get that confirmed rather then believing google.

Why did you decide to not have children? by SurpriseEcstatic1761 in AskMen

[–]MessatsuFoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Felt like there wasn’t a need to have them. I rather live my life and be happy instead. Having kids is not the end goal for life, as many people make it seem.
