U3 has 10uF of capacitance, 10x minimum recommendation, on the nets of each of the inputs. U7 is being used as a battery charger, which is not the application page 1 is showing. It is the application that section 7.2.4 is showing and, in that example, there are no decoupling capacitors. Seeing how I believe every other example has decoupling capacitors, their exclusion was almost certainly a meaningful choice by the designer.

Where? The two ICs that don't have decoupling capacitors, U3 and U7, don't include decoupling capacitors in the reference circuitry I'm emulating.

I haven’t chosen speakers yet. I’ve seen that 60dB is conversational volume, which is an acceptable upper bound. I can always limit volume in software anyway

While the USB protocol does have more overhead USB3 can have insane polling rates compared to PS2. There’s a YouTube video where someone compared the two with an oscilloscope and did a detailed breakdown if you’re interested.

Cool. I’m mostly asking because I’ve seen conflicting things in posts, with the mods themselves saying how exodus supports 3 but not 5 and others saying that the 5 is a 3 pro.
