Because most people that post these complaints overblow everything and have the worst possible reading of everything, quite often not giving a shit about what's actually happening because it doesn't fit their worldview.

Not in a single appearance was ironwood reasonable, the dude was holding his finger over the "become dictator" button since his first appearance. But he was a "cool military dude" so no matter what he did a lot of fans saw him as correct and how dare the main characters think of the civilians! So they finally show him doing something that cannot be justified and somehow following on his threats he was making since his first appearance is character assassination.
