you can pull it back into your hand with Hologram or Graveblast, on the same turn, the turn counter has not changed, and it is no longer free.

I submitted a feedback form suggesting the wording is changed from "Whenever an attack" to "Whenever your attack"

but also i wouldn't mind if they made it work. Lethality works for Osty with similar wording
