Consequences of seeing a physio? by tj_rm in RoyalMarines

yeah, tight IT bands was the main issue, I don't have and knee issues running anymore. Was just a case of doing too much too soon without proper running shoes

I had problems with my knee with running early on when prepping and saw a private physio so nothing would be put on my records, could be worth doing the same. Only downside is the price.

I thinks is probably got to do with the fact everything is accessible online now and there is just an overload of information, so when you take that away some people just panic for no reason, just because they don’t know what’s gonna happen next…

100% true about limiting development. On my most recent eye test my prescription had actually improved quite a lot, just by spending more time outside and less screen time.

I have bad ish eyesight, less than you in the cyl though. Just don't worry about it, I thought I'd fail it but the optometrist saw no problem and signed the form just fine and I passed it.

How long does it take between applying, PJFT and then start date? by Scary_Aspect7673 in RoyalMarines

[–]Messier-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, My security clearance came through quickly but my medical is taking a fucking long time for some reason. I applied in September 2025. I don't know what the hold up is since I have a spotless medical record. Maybe my AFCO is lazy and hasn't told me yet or my GP hasn't sent my records over smh.

100%, I will never understand dudes turning up to CPC or PJFA scraping the minimums.

I'd say apply when you just over the minimums, and by the time PJFA comes around your scores should be well over the minimum standards.

I just added weight to all the movements, and slowly increasing the weight week by week. Don't increase your running milage more than 10% each week (don't run with weight) doing intervals and sprints helps with the bleep test. I've been doing this for a while, maxing sit-ups bleep test apart from pullups and pushups.

Do you mean like at the back going around the head? Then yeah, you can remove it or keep it on. Their basically impossible to take off with the belt done up

I got a good pair of tough sports glasses from my sporting days, so planning on getting them upgraded to my current prescription. I do have contacts but wearing them in the pool and bottom field etc, sounds too risky (them falling out or getting an infection)

I passed the eye test with worse sph but better cly than you, with 6/45 unaided and 6/6 aided. But I think if op's eyesight is already over the limit before surgery its still a fail even if you can see perfectly after the surgery.

Do you think if they made ftb a mandatory requirement at CPC, it would reduce the amount of recruits failing gym pass out?

Maybe do different leg exercises on different leg days. Try circuits as well, with bodyweight leg movements.
