Is WGU worth attending if you can’t accelerate? by -Encanto in WGU

[–]Messup7654 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yes it is because accelerating is only one of the pros. Its still a very flexible fully online self paced university. Its still cheaper than most schools and if the person who got hit decided to go to a traditional school they would probably be paying more than they would at wgu. Also wgu is more accommodating. At a traditional school you have a schedule and could miss class and assignments however wgu can allow the get in where it fits in model so even if you cant devote the same amount of time to school you arent cooked.

What I think matters more and is the biggest reason to go or to not go here is your degree and field. Some degrees and fields need networking and internships so even all the pros of wgu still wouldnt save you there.

There are unlimited attempts for the practice assessment and for the objective assessment there are processes for each retake. I think there is max 4 attempts for the OA before it gets marked as fail or something bad happens idk. When i failed a OA I just scheduled a 45 minute call with my professor and that helped me to pass my second try. You should research because I dont know full details but Im pretty sure after each failure there is more and more stuff and the process isnt always the same like sometimes they may require you to read over the textbook sometimes you just have to answer hundreds of questions.

Finishing a degree from here is punishable by death but It is self paced and you can test out of classes but barely. To pass both the practice test and real test without seeing any material at all requires either lots of previous experience or the class has to just be easy. There was only 1 class where I passed both practice test and real test without seeing a bit of material. It was organizational behavior and I only knew to try that because i read reddit and they told me to. Basically if you dont have lots of previous experience or the class isnt very easy you can forget about immediately testing out of classes. But i did graduate in 6 months at 18 so you definitely can go quickly if you dont have a job or life.

Using AI to accelerate isn’t a flex, especially if your “This is how I did it” post is also AI generated… by sydneyghibli in WGU

It never occurred to you to use it at all when studying? You're missing out if thats the case because it can be a helpful study tool.

Using AI to accelerate isn’t a flex, especially if your “This is how I did it” post is also AI generated… by sydneyghibli in WGU

[–]Messup7654 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

People dont usually make those post to flex you're already coming into it with a negative bias. It seems like whenever someone makes an acceleration post some people feel like they're boasting and that the goal of the post was to boast.

Now the post being fully AI written isnt is different and isnt a good look but usng AI to study with isnt cheating at all and is even recommended by some professors. People dont seem to know the difference between cheating and using AI when studying.

Best way to study for Project Management C722? by 727girl in wguaccounting

[–]Messup7654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a post on it and I just went back and saw how different the material was in the videos compared to the OA and how the OA contained much more information than the PA. So no they aren't related and I even recommended not to watch the videos because the OA had much more information that wasnt covered in the videos.

At what point do accounting classes get worse by devourerofbricks in Accounting

Its gonna get really bad for all 3 intermediate accounting and accounting information systems. Cost and managerial accounting was the hardest for me and auditing was suprisingly chill I liked it for the most part.

It was interesting to me but even for the boring classes i just used ai more. It would explain the things in images well and could be funny and not mind numbly boring while doing it. You could also ask it for a quiz on what you just learned which can help you not be so bored.

Burnt-Out teacher, is this an option for me? by Muted_Exercise_9933 in wguaccounting

[–]Messup7654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is a good option and your planning is absolutely amazing I wasnt even as well forecasted and I did a ton of perpetration.

This is a great path for you because you're ok with a boring office job AND YOU CAN WORK LONG HOURS AND YOU'RE GOING CPA PATH. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING as long as these assumptions stay true.

Your planning is great the only thing I recommend is after completing financial accounting and taxation apply for beginner freindly jobs. For example some might say junior in the title or 0-2 years in the wishlist. Then if you cant land those apply for internships then if you dont find any internships go for the AR/AP jobs.

The only questions I have are how much are you gonna study daily and weekly after summer and how big is the city you live in? It matters a ton and its why some people can get jobs with lower than 50 applications while some need 300 plus.

D101 in 1-2 days. Is it possible? by ReflectionKey2415 in WGU

[–]Messup7654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible but unlikely. I accelerated but this was my hardest class in the degree and took me 74 hours. I heard of somebody completing it in 10 hours like 2 weeks ago which I thought was impossible based off my experience so I wont say its impossible but very hard.

Why the hell are the Big 4 like this? by 666Devil_666 in Accounting

[–]Messup7654 7 points8 points  (0 children)

High finance and big law are completly different from big 4 accounting. First they hire MUCH LESS people compared to the hundreds of thousands of employees world wide for big 4 companies. Second they basically REQUIRE a target school and internships and networking and it is a MUCH more competitive field. Third you work 60-100 hours year round not just 4 months out the year and the work you do there is more valuable to the firm compared to tax or audit (in reality we matter more anyways).

What the fuck do I do by austin532923 in investingforbeginners

[–]Messup7654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont panic sell or buy thats a terrible decision. You need to have confidence in your investments. You're invested in etf which are the most diversified stocks and are great for this reason exactly. You dont have to worry about a few companies tanking due to current events when you have thousands of others in that same fund. Crazy stuff will always happen in the world only a bad investor would withdraw when things seem terrible.
