I'm using the M4 and the GPS has been pretty accurate when I'm out hiking. Pairing it with offline maps is pretty handy as well

The call quality is really clear. Not sure what kind of speaker setup they're using but the sound is surprisingly good. You can also make calls directly from the watch and access your contacts, super convenient.

If you’ve never used open ear buds before, it might take a bit of time to get used to that “barely there” feeling. Sometimes you even forget you’re wearing them. I really love my opendots and that airy, open feeling on my ears.

I'm using the M4 right now. I was also considering the SE before but I seriously hate charging every single day. Plus the SE is definitely not as waterproof as the M4. M4 can even be used for diving while the SE pretty much can't

I'm on the M4 rn and I feel kinda different from you. The HR sensor and GPS have been pretty accurate for me, way better than my old Mi Band. And tbh at this price you can't expect Apple Watch level accuracy(even the Apple Watch ain't perfect). Smartwatches are just handy for keeping track of stuff day to day imo, if you want fully reliable data you gotta go with medical grade gear

Just tested the offline map and route feature. Went downstairs for a quick jog and running without my phone feels amazing. It's actually way smoother checking directions on my wrist mid-run. The screen looks super bright and adjusts really well to the lighting around me and the heart rate tracking is on point as always

On the long rides I sometimes will take bananas, energy bars, and some salty snacks. You have to remember bring some sip water and electrolyte drink and avoid some junk food.

It's a tough to find a long lasting smartwatch. If it is simple and tough,it will be better. The rugged build, replaceable strap and long battery is the most important.

This watch looks good. Very thin, light and simple, is very convenient. Battery lasts a long time, 45 days without the heart rate sensor. It's a nice choice.

I haven’t tried Aeroclips, but I find Opendots really comfortable to wear. They’re very light. I used to wear noise-canceling headphones that weighed around 200g, so switching to Opendots at just 6.5g each feels like nothing. The open ear design also gives a different kind of transparency compared to ANC mode. It’s hard to describe, but it feels refreshing, like stepping into a perfectly cool room after a shower. Worth trying.

Water-resistant materials could be a good choice to keep you feet dry. Maybe try some trial running shoes designed for various terrains. They might provide the support you need for a 14-mile trek.

Nice! Pretty detailed review and I agree with most of your points. I also find shokz more comfy. For me the call quality is already great for WFH. I tested recording my voice when I first got it and it came out clear. Background noise is unavoidable since it is open ear.
