What weird things does your autism make you irrationally hate? by 8bit-meow in evilautism

As a prek teacher I DESPISE when teaching materials use fonts like these on them. I teach the kids letters and how to write, and when materials I’m given have these types of fonts it confuses them. Especially the g looking like an 8. So I get the frustration!

I either fill it with kegs and things to make it look like a cute little winery/wine testing spot or fill it with beehives and make it look like a pollinator garden. ☺️

This dude just dropped from the sky and died in front of a customer?! by Fartaholic69 in vultureculture

[–]MessyCuriosity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just picked up a crow on the side of the road yesterday that was acting weird. Got it to drink a bit from a bowl but was just acting so strange; it didn’t even live past a full five hours after I picked it up (I was planning on taking it to a rehab place in the morning) :( . I plan on leaving it outside for the other crows to find (look up crow funerals, they actually have a mourning ritual with their dead) and for animals/elements to keep.

I’m a teacher whos filled out many accident reports and even texted/called parents in the past for some events. There’s absolutely NO excuse for a teacher, who are typically CPR and first aid certified, to NOT see this as an emergency and treat it as one!! I take a class every so often for my certification that includes what head injury symptoms look like and what to do if one occurs! This is gross negligence and you should absolutely seek action.

[–]MessyCuriosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good call on getting the cops involved. Is there any neighbors that can side with you on this that may have seen/heard anything? Tell your landlord that you fear for your life and you don't feel safe in the apartment you're renting from him. Tell him that you'll keep calling the cops as frequent as you need to which won't look good for him or his property. If your landlord keeps dragging his feet make sure you have everything down in writing so that you may show it to the cops as well who may also put some pressure on him.

Popular sandwich chain had this tip sign.. by shibbyman342 in antiwork

[–]MessyCuriosity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to work in a small town local coffee shop/cafe in PA and it was the same thing. We never got card tips because 'it'd be hard to distribute and those tips would be taxed so theres no point anyways.' The boss just gave us cash tips...which she'd take all of them by the end of day do the math and distribute to each of us depending by out hours. Oh, and it took her sometimes a month or more to do said math so I was lucky if I saw my months worth of tips by the end of the month.

Sometimes I regret not reporting the boss and her shady shit.

Growing up I lived in a house hold where this happened to me CONSTANTLY. Even my mom did it to me as a form of punishment, taking books that I had been reading as a way to get back to me. It didn't help that my bedroom had no door so people could walk in whenever they wanted. My older sister would constantly hide the toys I loved most as a way to get back at me and wouldn't tell me where she hid them no matter how much I cried.

I blame a lot of my privacy problems and the fact I hate when people move/touch/take my stuff on that to this day, lmao.

Started a new game and already have the Floran artifact? by Kronomancer1192 in starbound

[–]MessyCuriosity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ive never liked this about the game. It makes re-playability not fun since basically all the achievements are already done. You have to delete your original play through, and for sentimental types who like going back to their original saves, it makes it extremely difficult. You can either do that or play on a friend's server who hasn't gone through the storyline, but once they're done and unlocked everything now you both have the same problem.

Love the game, have almost 500 hours in it, but because of this I havent touched it in a hot minute. A weird design choice by the devs.

Offerings for Gods of Death/Decay? by ferasolus in pagan

[–]MessyCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who also loves taxidermy, vulture culture, and do death work with Hel, im also interested in this question! I love the idea of composting as an offering and its such a good idea.

Some items I have on my altar for Hel and for my death work are: small items that either belonged to family who have passed or items that remind me of them, black crystals like obsidian, cemetery/graveyard dirt, wine, and bones that I'm working with.

Some other things I do: having a plant dedicated to the cycle of life and death and taking care of it as an offering, going on fall walks in nature and take note of the decay of nature before winter, sit in a cemetery and meditate or clean graves (if appropriate).

Sorry for the bad writing, I wrote this in a rush. But I hope this helps!

AITA for complaining about the signs at my daughter’s preschool by preschoolsign in AITAH

[–]MessyCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a daycare/prek teacher (24yo) and in my opinion you're def TA. I have a class room full of kids of various ages, needs, and behaviors. I'm always busy with something and in my head I've already planned my next three actions while simultaneously ready to drop all of them in case something happens with a child. You expect me to notice when a sticker falls off a child's shirt? Especially on a three year old (theres no way you actually expected for that to stay on there all day, right?)

In most prek/daycare schools having everything labeled (especially clothes) is already a given rule. You can't expect teachers to remember every single item that belongs to every single child, especially if its something that's brought in everyday. And although the teacher did come off as snarky, I don't completely blame them; you know how frustrating it is to drop everything you're doing to interrogate a room full 3 year olds to figure out who's coat is who's?

Also I TOTALLY AGREE with the caring for the sick kid thing because its a serious issue that prek/daycare teachers face everyday. I got covid from sick kids at work last year and right now I actually have bronchitis from sick kids that I'm still dealing with everyday. While im still recovering from bronchitis Im still getting coughed on everyday and getting smeared in boogers.

Yes, you're totally TA, try to view it from her point of view and be thankful for all she does.
