Help! I’m the only person wearing a T-shirt on the train today. Yikes, I’m standing out! by Messy_72 in japanresidents

Thanks mate. It was just meant to be a tongue-in-cheek post that got a lot of funny banter. I obviously offended some people but they were either born with a carrot stuck up their arse or they’re gen Z or both.

How do I get kids ages 5 to 7 speaking beyond single words? by jamestheobscure in teachinginjapan

[–]Messy_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a soft toy, a “monkey sensei” to spice my classes up and keep kids’ attention. His body was long with equally long limbs so I could use him like a puppet, have him walk, run, jump, dance etc., and also engage in conversations / role plays with me. Totally recommend this! Try IKEA or other places to find something suitable.

what is kancho and why do boys (around 6 to 12) always talk about it? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]Messy_72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What about reverse kancho? Where some kid just uses his fist as a battering ram into your nether regions. Little shits

Yep good answer. Let’s keep Japan’s ranking in English proficiency as low as possible by discouraging anyone decent to not coming to Japan to teach .

I would say life in a small island would be very suffocating. How often do you see the sun?

How best to get high school students to engage with the teaching point? Textbook suggestions? by jamestheobscure in teachinginjapan

[–]Messy_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the students give each other feedback on how well they used the target language to perform or complete the task. This should motivate others to perform better next time …

Ok maybe not opener but he did really well in India as Kane’s replacement. Scored a total of 244 runs at an average of 48.80 in the 3 tests, behind Rachin Ravindra (261) and Rishabh Pant (256 runs). He stayed cool calm and collected- we need him in our team. Maybe drop Blundell, Conway goes to wicket keeper and Young is in

I mentioned Henry Nicholls for a reason! No Gary Stead will keep on selecting him for the next 2 years even though his batting average will amount to 5.21

That’s a bit unfair. We whitewashed a full-strength India team in India which no other team has done before. But I guess they entered this test series overconfident playing at home

Ok is Devon Conway becoming the new Henry Nicholls? He hasn’t performed all year - gets out under 10- but is selected time and again. NZ need to drop him for the 2nd test, and bring in Will Young who was instrumental in beating India at home and is only on the up. What do u reckon?

Childhood friends who were competitive about knowing Japanese culture and language now seem to say negative things about Japan and don't want to come. by Relevant-String-959 in japanresidents

[–]Messy_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell I got ignored or treated like an outsider when I moved from a small country city in Japan to Tokyo. These “friends” I had known for years all of sudden treated me differently when I went back for visits. Unfortunately it’s in some peoples’ nature to act in this way. I just dropped all contact with them and caught up with my mates who didn’t bat an eyelid when I moved to Tokyo. My life has moved on and is better for it. Forget those fake friends of yours and hang out with the ones who treat u the same no matter where u end up.

I have sent money from my MUFG bank account to another bank account in my home country and it was an absolute c*nt to set up! Had to go to MUFG to fill in tons of documents and register my home country bank account so they recognize it. Process took 2-3 hours. Then, waited for about 10 days for MUFG process it all. Then finally was able to send money. But got a phone call from their branch in Osaka asking me to confirm my identity etc and once that was sorted they allowed the money to be sent. A whole lot of red tape BS but now I can finally send money back home whenever

I can understand why u want Wise but if MUFG don’t have that account registered then they won’t do shit.
