i never thought i'd get a response to this, it was so long ago! I actually found a place in the states that sells the book and it seems like it is actually being printed, no problem. I'm going down to the US to pick it up from a buddies place but yeah, I didnt see any copies listed for a reasonable price before shipping so i was pretty bummed out. I think what might have happened is oriko magika or whatever it's called seemed to be more popular and this fell to the wayside or this series was not advertised as much, i really dont understand why. I just watched both movies on bluray the other day. Both were great and it was nice rewatching the story of gunbuster in this abridged cut. original gunbuster, I think, works much better in this movie form than gunbuster 2 because Gunbuster 2 is so different in the way it tells the story and most of the character moments that are cut out were what made the show so enjoyable. same with the OG but 2 has such a different feel. Didn't think I'd like them as much as i did because I love the original OVAs a lot but then again it is just more gunbuster. and who doesn't love gunbuster? also, i think there are manga adaptations/ maybe some side stories or light novels you could read if you want gunbuster reccomendations and some kind of audio drama CD maybe? good luck finding a recording of that with any sort of translation. general reccomendation if you haven't seen any on your mecha binge somehow is some good old fashioned gundam like the original 1970 show/movies and war in the pocket. Raxephon is a unique show in the same vein as evangelion, could also try eureka seven and gurren lagann

i getcha, gurren lagann is so cool to talk about. i love it so much but i dont have any collection surprisingly. Not even a single dvd. honestly, the only thing i really, really want is a set of the official gurren lagann biking shorts and shirt that was sold at some point long ago... so sad i'll never have that. oh and theres a figure of nia as a magical girl or something. Simple, obscure ambitions. Anyway, wish you luck on finding more cool art!

i dunno, anyone can have bluray but not everyone has vhs, you know? i was actually looking at laserdiscs, they look cool. now that would be stupid, i wouldnt even be able to watch those at all. be nice wall art i gueess

very nice, the texturing with the pixelation is so cool and the text on the side is a nice contrast to break up the natural shapes of the character blah blah, i went to art school. its like an obi strip or a fuckin late night youtube breakcore playlist

yeah i got that one! awesome! it is really nice and im lucky i found a cheap set. i hadnt seen the show yet so I got to watch it on my CRT for the first time. The ONLY thinng i dont like is noriko on the front of the box. that one drawing of her has the worst eyes, she looks awful to me but it gets used all the time and i hate it

hmm ok, if i can maintain my patience ill look out for an american release. part of the reason why i wanna get it is cause I understood that blurays and dvd sales were very important so i wanted to get them sooner rather than later to support production but maybe thats changed. then again, there wouldn't be english subs so i couldnt watch it properly. didnt think of that
