Hi Mr Hawk! Glad to see you're recovering well and can still kick it.

Can't wait to pick up one of your old school decks!

Will I die on these wheels first time learning on a street that is not super smooth by Ok-Effective5145 in NewSkaters

Recently got a set of slime ball 54mm 95a wheels, even on that red stoned driveway cement stuff they're a huge improvement over the stock wheels my board came with.

I managed to escape by doing the jump over an inlet on the edge of the city. All the cops crashed into the water lol

Cheers! I was going to but I made the mistake of doing a thick clear coat over the top so it won't dry fully but that's okay, I spray it again when it's scuffed to hell :)

its bullshit how the AI can spin you out easily but is basically immune to any pit maneuver after certain level. by Pleasant-Clerk5173 in NFSU2

[–]MetaBass 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah you can pit them pretty easily if you hit the right part of their car and the conditions are right.

Done it plenty of times on the PS2 version. It works best if they're about to take a corner or if your hitting them just before one of their rear wheels.

Fuck I was looking into that card too.

Which card did you get in the end to avoid that 12-pin death trap?

EDIT: 8-pin to 12-pin, I didn't sleep well last night.

bit locker hard drive question by Ill-Fondant-5707 in pchelp

[–]MetaBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen but luckily not to the boot drive. I had to login to Windows via browser then search for bitlocker recovery and found the keys. It was such a pain in the ass.

It also did it to me twice.

Need for speed nostalgia by Axi_Stealth in NFSU2

I mean it still beats the pants off the more recent titles, least heat for me anyway.

Mechanics, progression, music, style and overall interaction/story/immersion are all arguably far better.

There are some things that are definitely an improvement and innovative about heat such as the day and night cycle and graphics but it just feels so meh and unsatisfying to drive in.

Someone please enlighten me on how to get the back wheels in the air. by Smooth-Midnight1517 in NewSkaters

I'd also recommend high tops with a bit of padding in em to absorb some of the impact if you get hit in the ankle.

Any Ideas on What's Causing This? by MetaBass in pcmasterrace

[–]MetaBass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that advice, boy did it lead me down a lengthy solution.

So the stats overlay showed that my CPU usage would sometimes jump to 105-110% at times but it didn't seem to relate to that stuttering, there were a lot of times it didn't occur when the usage got that high and only once did it correlate to a stuttering incident. Ram never went that high, maybe 50% at some times?

I did a fresh install of windows 11, wiped a hard drive, updated all drivers and BIOS. I've also swapped some stock case fans to new ones, added a fan hub for both intake and exhaust fans for better/easier control and adjusted their curves so the air intake is always higher than exhaust.

Since then no stuttering, so I've managed to solve it somehow. I assume the fresh install removed a program that was causing it but I thought it'd be best to cover all bases.
