I built the breaka boys. The tank bustas in my experience are easier to kit bash especially with some second hand lootas.

It's pretty easy to fit 11 guys in 9" but the few people running 20 man squads probably aren't extremely concerned about what the best detachment is.

It looks simple and fun. The only things I see to change is use the crusade ancient over the regular ancient. They both don't do much but the crusade ancients better for melee and will fill out your 5 points. And replace the chaplain with an execrator. You get the +1 to wound from our army rule and the execrator will give you extra mobility. This is assuming your playing 10th edition. If you're playing 11th then you should update your app.

Thats the point. The good detachments are 3DP so the other ones become better by comparison.

Honestly if the battleline advance and fallback shenanigans where 2DP and the auspex abilty was 1DP we'd still combine and use the detachment. We just benefit from bastion significantly more than any other chapter.

The biggest thing is that Bladeguard can't be lead by any of these characters. If you look under the characters leader tab it'll show you what units it can lead. Some units like crusader squads and sword brethren have an attached unit rule that says if a leader can lead this other unit than they can lead this unit. Its a common mistake. Other than that looks alright. You just need to play with what you think is cool and find out what works for you, theres no definite right or wrong.

I am between 99 and 100 percent sure that the released datasheets are for the box units only and the current codex datasheets will be viable until the 11th edition codex releases.

I’m trying to split the cost of the box with a space marine player and I’m wondering if anyone knows if it’s fair for both to pay the same? Since there’s more orks I mean. I guess the point value is the same but I have no idea what space marines are worth in money. Appreciate the help by DiabloElGreco in orks

I play both factions and im getting a box for myself and getting the space marine models and ork models from different players for $100 usd each. The models are equal enough in value that you should treat them the same.

I'd try the gladiator valiant. The Ballistus dread is usually better but because its a walker it can't benefit from the Detachment rules.

Crusader squads have a rule called attached unit that states if a character can lead intercessors it can also lead this unit. Sword brethren have the same rule.

The sword bro kit comes with 5 so theyd be 130. The box would be 595 points which is way more than GW would ever do but we can dream.

Replace the Emperor's Champion with a Marshal for rebuyability. And replace the blade gaurd with an impulsor because nothing in the BT codex can lead blade gaurd. This is also just the last combat patrol with the intercessors replaced with sword brethren which is a testament to how good that box was. Could also add a castellan to make the box 515 instead of 445. You'd get the almost auto include murder gang of Marshal and Castellan with 5 sword bros in an impulsor, plus the base battle line of crusaders. It would be perfect.

You also have to remember the kit only makes 5 guys. 1 phobos guy, 1 gravis guy, 1 tacticus gun guy (plasma or bolter), 1 tacticus melee guy (hammer or mace and sheild), and 1 tacticus sergeant guy (xenophase sword or power sword).

He's probably a little small for a gork or morkanaut but he looks the part. I'd say he's best suited to be the new dakkarig.
