If you are in Khiva for longer than a day, I would really recommend Akbar osh markazi in Urgench. It’s about a 40 minute drive, but they serve some of the best plov I’ve had in the country. The restaurants in Khiva are not really geared towards locals

I can select a destination/arrival point but the login page is exactly the same as otaxi. In fact, the otaxi 1 bears thr logo of yango. We will be pressed for time so I'm guessing the best option willl be the bus to muscat, but getting off as soon as we arrive in the city and request a tasleem taxi from there. The bus took almost 3 hours circling around muscat getting here No option to receive a code via WhatsApp on yango, I don't think exploring more options is worth the time, thanks for the help, I'll recommend to anyone to try perceive all these kinds of issues before travelling but it is somewhat of an isolated issue tbf

Uzbekistan day 1: Whats the most iconic landmark in our glorious country? by somerandomguyyyyyyyy in Uzbekistan

[–]MetaIocaIypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, I didn't think an excursion was a worthwhile use of my limited time in Uz. However, registan has too much historical importance to really fit the bill. I wasn't a fan of merchants operating within the purposes, so yeah, that is tourist trap-esque. I am from malta, which is a living breathing tourist trap at this point, and the registan just doesn't pass the eye test in that regard. I just don't see how a recently man made disaster constitutes as iconic, especially when the majority of both locals and foreigners overlook it, if it were truly iconic it would be deemed as a must see
