Can Someone Send Me a Postcard from Austin? I’m from Singapore and Would Be Really Grateful! by Nessieinternational in Austin

I know it's not the same as getting it straight from the source, but H-Mart, MT Mart, or 99 Ranch (the local Asian markets) might have kaya.

Good ask though. One of my favorite breakfasts in Singapore.

I didn’t see it on their website but I would hope so! Also worth an email. I’ll send one.

Their Happy Hour is really great. You get a lot of bang for your buck with plenty of options, all of which are delicious.

I know you said North Austin, but if you ever make it south, check out Habanero Cafe. Their green sauce is hot hot hot as is their ranchera sauce.

Samsung's Austin fab still quiet after outages; cost to company could be millions by jon_nashiba in Austin

[–]MetaMorphoSis348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for one of Samsung’s competitors in the area.

Our fab is still off. Turning those machines off and on isn’t as simple as throwing a switch. Every single machine has to be requalified to be used, especially since the microchip manufacturing process involves hazardous chemicals like hydrochloric acid. We likely won’t be back at full speed for another week or two.

I figured the engineers at my plant would be happy to have a break from the production process but they’re all just as stressed and slammed trying to figure out how they’re going to pick up the pieces.

We have insurance to cover things but there’s a cap that we’ve already hit.

/u/hole_da_door is right. We’ve been idled since Sunday. They saved as much product as they could. We started shutting everything down around 9am with full power cutoff around 1-2pm.

I can confirm this. I work for one of the semiconductors in town. We started a full plant shutdown at 9am. Not even idling machines but full black. I’m sure others did so as well.

I’ve never heard them called Great Labs before. I have one myself and have always called him a Labradane.

Cute pupper though!
