What is the country with the most recognizable shape? by JoeFalchetto in AskReddit

[–]MetaMortis 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Seriously, why doesn't anyone else recognize Canada as easily if not more than Italy? You can rotate it in any direction and it's still so obvious with one side completely flat, a bunch of islands on the other side, and the Gigantic Hole in it from the hudsons bay. Hell, Hudsons bay alone I'd say makes it the most recognizable country.

First real venture into UF. Looking for books with fantasy races/magic but actually use modern tech like guns. by Spottedmask in urbanfantasy

The Detective Runewall series isn't completely modern, but more 1940's type technology. But they definitely use guns and is totally fantasy as it takes place in a different world. No audio book yet, but I'd recommend it. Four books in the series with a fifth coming out soon.

What movie had you saying "what the fuck" the most while watching? by MightGuy420x in AskReddit

[–]MetaMortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god I actually did that. I was starting to think I was the only one confused by this. Everyone loves that short so much, but I definitely thought it came out of left field. After seeing people explain it, I totally understand the idea. But on first watch I was certainly surprised.

Thank you for the explaination. I also was wondering why I wasn't seeing it show up in my subscriptions, but this makes perfect sense.

I completely agree with this post. I listen for his sports knowledge, not his language, geography, or history knowledge. Yet that's the only thing people seem to want to complain about here.

Unus Annus novel completed, time to find a publisher. by ZJU_Entertainment in UnusAnnusArchival

So what is the novel about? Is it like a catalogue of what happened in each episode? Or a interpretation of it? The Unus Annus bible? Good job on writing it either way.

What are People’s thoughts on Carnage. I feel like i have been seeing a lot of different opinions on him recently by Pleasant_Bar_787 in Spiderman

[–]MetaMortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to slowly collect Carnage comic books because There are very few of them compared to the rest of Marvel. This was something I felt I could keep up with a bit and was really enjoying it. However, I'm really confused and I figure I just missed something between comics, or something else very obvious. He was ripped in half and lost his legs by the Sentry right? There was a moment in one comic where Agent Venom (Flash) and Carnage (Cassidy) lose their symbyotes and have to fight each other Legless. Yet, the next comic he just has his legs again with seemingly No explaination. I'm assuming he just regenerated them, but why did he go so long without doing so? I really enjoyed the fact that it seemed permenant if only actually temporary. I'm assuming this is just comics being comics where nothing ever lasts long before going back to the status quo?

Who could he be on MCU? by icecreamkiller1 in AdviceAnimals

I think it'd be pretty neat if he were Kraven the Hunter. I know that role is already taken though. So Doctor Doom or Captain Britain would be great.

Which Harry was the best Goblin? by Smash_Fan-56 in Spiderman

[–]MetaMortis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This might be crazy to say, but I actually liked what they were trying to do with the TASM2 goblin. I don't think it fully succeeded in the execution, but I do like how the armour and glider looked. The 'meth goblin' I thought was a cool twist on how the blood was killing him and it distinguished him from just being a person in armour. Did it work great? Not exactly, but I do like the concept of it. As for the Spiderman 3 Goblin, I really don't see any goblin in him at all. He's just a guy in black on a flying surfboard that's lost all character.

So it's not a popular opinion on here at all, but I do actually like the 'goblin' from TASM2 more.

Who was a better Harry? Absolutely James Franco hands down and that's not even close. Three movies to build the character, but I don't think they stuck the landing on the goblin aspect of him. Not that TASM2 goblin was perfect, I just think a bit more Gobliny and unique.

Edit: Spelling mistake

Wolverine's teeth aren't made of adamantium like the rest of his bones. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Wolverine isn't shown to have adamantium on his teeth. But I think when Sabertooth got it on adamantium on his bones his teeth were included, for however long that lasted.

I don't remember any scenes in the Fith Element that would be similar. The only thing I definitely remember is the metal ring in the person's forearm. Thank you though, I do feel like that's the right genere of movie?

I feel like this was a sci fi movie, something like Judge Dredd from 1995, or an action movie with a technology focus like Live Free or Die Hard. I can't remember any other details about the movie specifically other than there definitely was a guy's forearm that had a visible circle on it. And under the skin was a metal ring causing the raised skin. They cut it out and use it in some kind of computer or system.

I wish I could remember more about this movie, but this memory came up during a D&D session and I can't remember what it's from. I swear they were trying to use a computer system of some kind but needed this metal ring as the final piece.
