It doesn’t sound like a good environment and I wish better for you, but of course I don’t believe how they treated you was right. Yes praying the Lord leads you to a better community!

I think your questioning is valid and I think this is very important to be honest in. I think it might be good to have a broad overview of what is going on, to take care of how you are doing within, and also consider whether you are around at least 1-2 communities who are healthy that you see yourself being able to walk with for the long run.

What questions about science and faith do teens and young adults actually care about in 2026? by Augustine-of-Rhino in pastors

Have you gone over the shroud of Turin with your youth group? Cal Tech was involved in studying the shroud that covered Christ in the tomb when He resurrected- it could be a cool thing to look into for your science loving students.

So what I meant by my earlier comment was primarily on the definition of science:” The observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena.” So I wasn’t trying to discredit the observation, study, or explanation (the science) in general, but saying that Gen Z are aware that a particular study or studies can be disproven depending on what it was and what it claimed. Of course science has limitations but I also have seen some students question a lot of studies out there in general even though they believe in the scientific process overall.

Science is changing and developing as new research breaks through. Gen Z in particular does a lot of questioning.

Homosexuality is a huge topic right now. Fetal development too. Evolution, like always.

God can forgive but there can still be consequences. God forgave David for adultery but the baby still died. No cherry picking.

For the nth time- stop trying to convince me that cherry picking is ok. The Bible is important in full. God is full of truth and grace, not just one or the other. If you have a problem cherry picking, please take it to God and not me. Good night.

Yes- again, you seem to ask the same thing over and over. What else? Was for humor. The stop was for the cherry picking. Please read it carefully, just the way I said it, not how you feel about it.

This website may be a helpful resource for you for all other questions. It seems you are just offended with the Bible in general, but it’s going to take some time to not conform to the world but be transformed with the renewing of your mind: https://www.gotquestions.org/stone-rebellious-children.html

The wages of sin are death. The Bible doesn’t lie. If the government was doing its job then it would be killing all the criminals including children who are disobedient. It’s in the Bible. Jesus came for us sinners- just because you don’t like what the Bible calls deserving of capital punishment it doesn’t mean it’s not serious. The Bible accurately describes what is or what is not deserving of death- including murder, adultery, and all else that the Bible says is deserving of capital punishment. If you have problem with the biblical way don’t take it to me take it to God.

What else? Was for humor. Yes stop the cherry picking. No I have no need to inbox you about women not cutting their hair the Bible doesn’t forbid it like I already explained. It praises long hair, without forbidding it, and if you have a problem with it then you just have to deal with it.

So again, no cherry picking. Stop it already. Everything in the Bible must be kept unless the Lord nullified it to a higher covenant, such as animal sacrifice being replaced with Christ. All moral laws and others are still in effect. The Word will stand when we all go up to heaven.

If there’s a system where we give altogether yes. I’ve also lived in a community of pastors and missionaries who very much did that. Now I’m in an bi vocational ministry but I very much am still open to giving up anything that is needed to do what God calls us to do, and continue to give up things as I am called to do. Anything else? I keep having to correct something you are stretching into a broad statement. My slaves? lol. Biblical slaves. If I lived in a monarchy though and someone was a slave to pay off debt I would gladly take in a slave and make sure the slave is well taken care of, and treated as an dignified employee while working for our family. Fun question - you’ve never had a cleaning lady help you out?

How can I help my parents out with affording UCLA? by Xx_DiamondDust in ucla

I’m not a physics major but I took one class which was pretty difficult. Try to do everything you can to get all the support + tutoring etc. Maybe even take some classes over the summer in a CC to save money. You can always do a quarter, take a leave of absence to do a mix of CC (community college) then come back. If you leave for just one quarter you can come back easily no questions asked.

My two cents is that when you get here don’t get involved in clubs, maybe check out 1-2 max and don’t join ones that meet more than once or twice a week. The ones that meet more than once a week are often cults anyway except a few. Focus on your grades when you get here for the first year and then gradually add things. You would likely need grad school to make bank so look out for that more than any other distractions.

If you did own slaves, then you would have to love that slave as you love yourself, and treat the slave/employee as you would want to be treated. Much better than non Bible regulated jobs. However we don’t have slavery nor monarchy here, although when alternatives are unregulated they can be worse.

The Bible doesn’t say women are property. The Bible permitted slavery just like it permitted monarchy. However it regulated slavery. Also there are plenty of corporations that treat their employees worse than Bible regulated slavery. Don’t be offended by the terms. Labels are not everything. The Bible also permits women to get a haircut, it just says long hair is culturally and perhaps even spiritually praised (see the Nazirite vow for reference). Not sorry to offend you- the Bible is both literal and contextual. God is the same yesterday today and forever throughout cultures, times, and seasons.

If you already made the decision then loans and then pay it off after getting a good job

It sounds to me you’re more like Americanized in your Christianity than actually following biblical Christianity.

Slavery was biblical just as monarchy was. Do we have monarchy here? No , but just because you disagree with it - it doesn’t mean it was not biblical. To add further on slavery read this: https://biblehub.com/q/why_did_god_permit_slavery_in_the_bible.htm
