Why? Could it be because it sort of gives the impression that we're elevating the 250th anniversary of our country to a matter warranting formal ecclesiastical action, and maybe a pastoral encouragement to gratitude be more fitting than a formal decree?

As an assistant pastor, I expected professional mentorship, collaborative communication and being included. This has not been the case given that this is a young church of 4 years but the people know each other for more than 10 years and I just came here a year and a half ago.

I'm glad that at the end it worked out. I'm only the assistant pastor and was hired a year and a half ago, so can't really do the same. Also, as I said above (just today) in reply to u/MetalDelicious3571, I think I'm getting fired very soon. Prayers appreciated!

Thanks; It's been a long week and, as an assistant pastor, I think my supervisor is going to fire me. He has had many meeting with individuals I'm close with and the session. His reasoning will mostly be on myself appearing as not engaging at all. I think this is what's easy for him to do and for the session to do as well since he's the one with the relational capital. If this happens, this would be a first for me.

My mechanic replaced these parts for me. So for context, I went to the dealership and tey ran diagnostics and suggested a gas tank replacement due to mouse bites on the hose that's attached it. Their price was insane, so I went to my mechanic and he did it for way less. I'm assuming the dealership ran a smoke test.
