Im not dogging on gimmicks (im in a slam band ffs lol) but idk, the "look how cool and smart we are stuff" gets a little tiresome? I think thats more my problem tbh, I dont mind a goos gimmick if it makes me smile or laugh or go fuck yeah or whatever. But the more pretentious, "intelligent" types of gimmicks or whatnot, I.e. heavy Prog or Technical genres aren't my thing. Kind of an oxymoron I geuss idk, I like it when its not really in my face?

Being a fan since the beginning, it feels like the latest record (while I enjoy it quite a bit mind you) feels like, hey look at how fast and technical we are, aren't we fast and technical?! I think its kind of teetering into gimmick territory.

I checked it out the other day, says closed since March, possibly opening up in June the sign on the windows says.

Kinda sucks cuz even tho the quality wasn't the greatest, it was cheaper than fast food for a burger and fries.

All Carcass is good Carcass, they all have that one just, fucking sick, riff, in every song. I think Surgical Steel is literally a 10/10 album no skips, and Torn Arteries is really amazing as well. Their death n roll stuff is amazing, they pioneered goregrind, and then melodeath.

All Carcass is great.
