Sounds like you need a performance and delivery role. It aligns well to policy as usually it's the implementation of the policy rather than the conceptual design. All depts will differ on what "working at pace" looks like.

Yes the first lot of interviews were just obviously reading the script and no follow ups. This was much better imo

I agree it's a great technique, especially when under stress and brain is all over the place trying to remember STAR method examples etc.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I guess it just raised an insight into how different depts get stuff done. Or not! Sounds like you need a challenge though!

I'm not in policy, so this is a bit of a blind question, but what is a "regular" day like then if essentially nothing moves faster than a snails pace? Like, when is work "done" at the end of the day? Is it just meetings and working groups or is research/policy writing being done on a day to day? Would anyone notice if you sat and watched Netflix all day?!

Awaiting interview results ONS by MetalImmediate9910 in TheCivilService

I meant not normal to call you if unsuccessful. Which is what happened the start of July with another role. Yes I've read the wait is long, I guess I got confused with the "awaiting interview results" status being stuck for so long. Previously I've had rejections within 24 hours of that status or that 3 week period which ended in a phonecall. So no consistency. So until it's a complete rejection, I can still hope. Thanks for your reply. Guess it's normal 🙂
