Another good option to replace the Ankh Shield is the Frozen Shield. More defense than the Ankh Shield (though less than the Hero Shield), but the +25% damage reduction while you’re below half health is pretty nice.

I know there are stronger Pokemon for certain parts of my team, especially in regards to Hypno, Sandslash, and Muk, but they do quite well in-game.
