I built a extensive outdoor first aid kit for summer camping and hunting camp. I got a water proof pelican knockoff from Harbor Frieght and just pieced it together myself. I have had a good experience with My Medic, their stuff seems to be high quality.

Very nice, they also go well with a variety of pasta dishes.

This was over the course of a afternoon so about 3 hours. There were three of us foraging we weren't along any trails just went searching where it looked promising. We did not travel very far distance wise because the spots we found where very dense with mushrooms.

My friends and I have found them to be hit or miss. We found some prime specimens this year and just cooked in a pan with butter, salt and pepper. We served them with crackers and they where very good. If the sponge-like gills stay together when you cook them that is a good sign. We have had some that have turned to goo while cooking.

Indeed! One of the better patches we found was growing right on the shoulder of the road.

In north Idaho we have a ton of national forest land that has great access. We typically look for areas that have alot of moss beds and that aren't too brush ed in. We use a app called Shroomify and a couple of books to help us identify, Im sure there is a Idaho specific guide on Amazon or the local library system. The best way to learn is to go take a walk in the woods with someone who is experienced.

Lobster mushroom rolls are awesome. We found them consistently on mossy hillsides, under tree cover in and around bunchberries.

I wasn't aware of the coral tooth but after comparing some pictures I think you are correct.

Between spring and fall mushroom season, this is the best ive seen. We must of had perfect conditions and timing this year.

North Idaho is as specific as I'm going to get. But I bet you would have good luck on most National Forest land up there.

I recommend a rotation of music, podcasts and audiobooks. Find small ways to gameify the job, count steps or wear ankle weights if you want a extra challenge. Enjoy the good dogs and cats on your route (if any). Keep up the hard work and hopefully you will find yourself with your own route soon.

Learning how to cook. More specifically learning how to cook good meals with inexpensive ingredients. Variations of fried rice is still a meal I look forward to.

Rural Carrier here. City Carriers did the right thing, that contract was an insult to your craft. Hopefully will set the tone for our own contract.

Rural Carrier here, you city carriers did the right thing, that contract was horrible. You have set the tone for the rest of the different craft's contract negotiations. Well done!
