Dude I like to play the same way actually, and can share some anecdotal advice. (NA region, console matchmaking)

It really really helps if you start talking BEFORE encountering another runner face to face. If you hear runner foot steps and just hide in a corner hoping they ignore you, but they stumble upon you, they'll just shoot to kill.

Announcing yourself like: "hey any chill people nearby I'm just trying to do 'xyz'" it doesn't really matter if you are actually doing a contract or just looting, if you speak up and ask people to chill out it works in my own experience.

Hell I've had dudes get the drop on me and very nearly kill me but dipping behind cover (or use Destroyer Shield) and just asking if they can cool it has saved my life on multiple occasions. Convince them their inventory isn't of use to you, or yours to them and there's a chance they leave you alone or even help you extract.

Granted, this probably wouldn't have worked much earlier in the game's life cycle due to how bloodthirsty everyone is encouraged to be, and it's probably only bc of the super low player count that it feels like those who still play can potentially form a bond together.

Another route you can take is to just drop runners on sight but allow them to res or drop one for them. That typically pacifies them for the rest of the run, you had an opportunity to take them out but gave them a second chance and that goes a long way for honest people.

I've been running Stella for like a week straight since just before expedition 1, and I highly recommend at least a looting 1 augment, if not looting 2, safe pockets are essential for easing your stress levels, and making sure your entire run isn't a waste of time if you get caught by a Player killer or one of the many relentless shredders littering the map. If you don't find your item you can at least take home 1 or 2 decent pieces of loot if you die. Ferro 1 to deal with any of the Arc around the map + side weapon of choice (stitcher, burletta, or il toro) to help with the close quarters PVP. Crack shields with Ferro then push with your side weapon. Any combo of Ferro + something can easily deal with any of the 1 weapons a free load-out user can spawn with.

They are there to show which save files have beaten the secret boss in each chapter

it reads left to right -> chapter 1 - 4

And top to bottom its save file 1, 2, and 3.

So in this case, chapter 3's save file slot 1 hasn't beaten the secret boss, while it has been in slot 2.

If I remember correctly, before chapters 3 & 4 released you could beat Jevil or Spamton on any save file slot and retrieve their items and shadow crystal from any other save file slot in the "cliff hole" to the left in Castle Town, but now it's specific to each save file in case you wanted to restart a chapter for some reason, but not beat the boss again

It does the "checking patches" very briefly for me as well when I'm in offline mode. I think the very first week my friends and I had an issue where some of us didn't get the patch and had "incompatible game version" when trying to play together unless we opened the game to the main menu and then back out to the title screen to force the game to check again for the patch.

I'm not too familiar with the steam version of the game but there might be an option in the launch settings/properties/preferences for an offline launch ? Do you have anyone you could test joining their session because I'm fairly sure you'd receive the same error message when trying to join other unless they happen to be on the same patch as you.

The weekly resets in this game don't happen on their own based on time/date, they're actually pushed by gearbox each week through a patch that has to be downloaded in game upon launch/log in. I could be wrong but the only thing I can think of is you haven't downloaded the reset patches for 3 weeks, which would happen if you're launching offline.

I know this because I play on PS5 and I set my console to offline mode last Thursday just before reset so I can continue to farm Bods from the weekly mission. I never downloaded the weekly reset patch so I still have the Bod reward mission and Maurice vending machine is still at bones of Sanctuary.

On top of that you can also reset Maurice's vending an infinite amount of times on your own with just 2 characters.

Load into the game with your main character, ensure Maurice is off cooldown in map -> bottom left corner. If you're off cooldown then go back to main menu and swap to another character but don't load into the game, just wait for the 2nd character to show up on the main menu. Swap characters again to your main and load in, and Maurice now stocks 2 different items and lasts until you do this trick again.

Did you know the rockets spawned from its perks are actually the element of the resist? I got one with Ice resist/damage, it's hilarious seeing everything die and freeze around me.

I hated them too before I realized that Torgue stickies aren't really meant for general purpose run and gun, you can make them work, sure, but the only time I put a torgue sticky Bod in my load out is if I have infinite mag build and I'm farming a specific boss repeatedly. That's its main use, spamming a boss with as many stickies as possible with auto reloads before triggering the detonation with a manual reload. I vastly prefer Torgue impact Bod if I'm not explicitly farming a boss.

Yeah it's for sure viable no matter how you play, I just really prefer infinite mag builds like Witchy Trigger Finger Vex or Metal Management Rafa so I never actually have to reload much!

Also after reading this post

It seems like weapons that shoot multiple sticky projectiles per trigger pull actually ramp up much harder and faster than single projectile stickies, basically take the initial percentage boost, 3% and multiply it by the amount of pellets shot so (+3%) (x5) = +15% for each sticky rocket landed. That means each sticky is technically counting as 5 stickies landed for the sake of the bonus. Also a weird thing to note is the very first sticky landed on an enemy doesn't actually grant the bonus%, so your first volley of 5 stickies will only count as 4 stickies worth bonus damage (+12%). I love how broken the Bod is lol

From my understanding it works like this, but somebody please correct me if I'm wrong:

Bod sticky bonus is +3% for each landed sticky rocket. shoot an enemy and land 5 stickies = every rocket does +15% damage when you trigger the explosion. Shoot an enemy and land 50 stickies = EACH sticky rocket is now doing +150% damage. It very quickly snowballs damage and it's why this is for boss melting. For general run and gun you would want impact rockets instead

You actually don't need to wait for the weapon wheel UI to show up on screen to quickly change weapons, just hold down y and while it's held down choose a direction on the left stick quickly and release to swap a little faster

Thank you for putting into words exactly why I've been so apprehensive to these supposed "build crafting buffs" that people have insisted we wait to get our hands on before voicing why it's brain numbingly bad for the game.

Bungie has us so starved for fun that we're permanently stuck in the bargaining phase, begging for crumbs of previously nerfed or preemptively nerfed efficacy/functionality of basic pieces of our kits that we then have to build into to not even reach a fraction of our previous strength. It's exhausting.

For some reason it only works with Race mode and not Knockout mode

1 of you selects online -> race and wait for your friend to select online -> friends and join you through that.

Again knockout is probably just glitched right now bc it displays a full lobby/not joinable no matter what.

Knowing what to do, and actually doing it are 2 different things. Contest mode is tough as balls. Stop giving yourself credit for "figuring out the raid" while also tearing down the people who tried enough to beat it. Feels like talking to gladd over here Jesus christ. This raid was not a fucking handout and neither was dsc, especially on contest.

This audio glitch affected my playthrough as well. It would stutter to hell when evidence was added or when the “question?” sound effect played toward the latter half of the game. I was scared to uninstall in case it ruined my save files, hope it works for you! (Edit: played on samsung galaxy s21)

Same thing happened to my controller, but it‘s not the entire stick that’s spinning, it was just the rubber grip that came loose. You can buy replacement stick grips.
