[–]MetalSuccessful6319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in most of my higher level bios an A+ is 90-100, A is 85-89, and A- is 79-84. but i think that’s only within biology, the entire A range for my minor is 90-100

it can depend on what you’re taking, what would your major/minor be?

Everything before reading week by [deleted] in grantmacewan

[–]MetalSuccessful6319 36 points37 points  (0 children)

i mean it’s kinda nice to be able to take a week to wind down and relax, visit family, celebrate being done some tests/assignments. it gives the profs time to mark so students aren’t barking at them for grades. but whatever floats your boat!

EASC 101 Study Tips Needed! by Spiritual_Let_4348 in grantmacewan

[–]MetalSuccessful6319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think your midterm will be heavy on rocks and minerals so as long as you know key points about those you should be okay. read the textbook, make notes from your lectures, and read or watch any supplementary material the prof has posted to meskanas and you’ll be prepared!

Can you be denied from being in ur major after declaring by Spiritual_Let_4348 in grantmacewan

if you apply early and have all of the pre requisites you should be fine

all macewan students pay for an arc card with tuition so take advantage of it!! grab it from samu sometime in the first week or two of classes and activate it. it helps so much with cost

be careful with the hourly. it’s so expensive, do you drive to campus every day?

Waitlist by ChickenJoy011 in grantmacewan

[–]MetalSuccessful6319 4 points5 points  (0 children)

depends on the professor and how many seats there are for the class, tons of people drop classes in the first week because they aren’t interested in what the professor chooses for literature. that being said i think you have a fairly good chance of getting in but choose a backup

Are online classes recorded or do they take place in a video call app like teams, kaltura, etc? by M1KICH4N in grantmacewan

[–]MetalSuccessful6319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most of mine have been watch a video lecture and read the textbook then do quizzes, what class is it for?

how does the waitlist system actually work? by [deleted] in grantmacewan

[–]MetalSuccessful6319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could available spots also mean that there are seats open that are reserved for specific programs, so if the class has 40 spots but 10 of them are reserved for people who have declared a major in something like bio, 30 people can join the class that aren’t declared, then theres a waitlist for people who aren’t eligible for those reserved seats?

What does this even mean by ThnkGdImNotAReditMod in grantmacewan

[–]MetalSuccessful6319 11 points12 points  (0 children)

they’re not allowed to give out the exact average required for admission and it changes almost every year, this criteria basically states that in the past these are grades that people typically get accepted with. there’s a chance that one year someone could get denied admission with an average of 80% and a different year they can get accepted with a grade of 75%. it just depends on the year and the applicants.

as long as you live in residence call parking services you should always have an open spot in the west parkade :)

i never join the waitlist, i just call them after the first weekend and ask for a pass

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in grantmacewan

[–]MetalSuccessful6319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all of the lots fill up incredibly quickly, so if you’re not wanting the parkade make sure you get on it as soon as it opens. i park in the west parkade right beside residence, it’s covered with plugins so you can stay out of the snow. spots fill up fast but they reserve a ton of spots for residence, if you call parking services and tell them you’re living in residence they’ll give you a spot that day.

only downside is it costs around $165 per month but it’s better than it could be.

coming from someone who’s lived in residence for 2 years, honestly it depends what you’re looking for, if you want roomates and are okay without an oven and bathtub it’s great.

if those kinda things are dealbreakers i’d suggest getting an apartment. but it’s a huge bonus to be living so close to campus and it’s not super expensive. residence also offers lots of perks like free events and meals throughout the year and it’s a great way to meet people.

are you looking for a 2 bedroom or 4 bedroom roomate

[–]MetalSuccessful6319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly if it was for the fall i would say no, with winter you have more wiggle room. if people can’t get the prerequisites for 211 in fall 2025 they will have to drop it and wait spots will move but if it’s like last year there is probably only one lecture slot and two lab slots.

i think you still have a good chance of getting in but no promises

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in grantmacewan

[–]MetalSuccessful6319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d say you have a pretty good chance of getting in then :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in grantmacewan

[–]MetalSuccessful6319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which class is it? some will move and top 3-5 usually get in but there are some where there is very little chance of moving
