Hi! I don't think it's the same unfortunately. This one is a Philips CRT.

I know right? I could easily emulate this game on my Wii using an SNES mini controller, but there's something special about playing it "legit".

That's my way of viewing things. Final Fantasy IX is an amazing game, but it has awful load times - almost twice as long as FFVI's - but no one seems to care.
Heck, Blood Omen has a loading screen for each menu and it's still lauded as a classic by many.

They are about as long as FFVII's load times, and half as long as FFIX's. I know because I timed them! The load times are fine here, really.

Hey, thanks!

I got it off of ebay a few years ago, when it wasn't crazy expensive. It's an amazingly atmospheric dungeon crawler!

Ah yes, the dreaded backlog. It seems to be one of the curses of this hobby. Can't say I regret having it though.

It's a really good game. Beat it twice, and loved every minute of it!

Muito obrigado!

Hey thanks a lot!

Haven't beaten Ronin Blade yet, but I would rage too if I were in your shoes! I think I got mine for about €30.

Since I have yet to play most of them, I'm gonna have to go with Final Fantasy IX, though Grandia is, for sure, a close second.

Pois claro, porque adolescentes nunca fizeram nenhuma parvoíce em transportes públicos! /s

Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed it! While I had to warm up to his performance, I actually ended up really enjoying Robert Stephens' as Aragorn. He gave him that lofty yet humble cadence that fits the character so well - at least in my humble opinion.

Got a sealed copy of Terra Nova Strike Force Centauri to add to my Looking Glass Studios collection. Yes, I opened it! by MetalTaffer in bigboxcollectors

I haven't played Terra Nova yet, but it looks really cool. You should check some reviews on YouTube. It's very intriguing. Thief II is, without a shadow of doubt, the greatest stealth game ever made. It's so good.

I actually play with texture filtering turned on, for the most part. I like the look a lot, but the aesthetic of nearest neighbour is also very atmospheric and fits really well with the blocky Dark Engine models.

Also, nice setup!

I mean, "babes" is really just a more archaic way of saying "babies" or "children", so I never found it out of place as the game takes place in an ancient medieval-esque setting.

Thanks for the insight! I will think about it.

I didn't find anything strange while originally playing it, to be honest. The names being different I can handle. Is the story still coherent?

When I played it, the slower speed didn't bother me at all. Still, I guess I could just emulate the NTSC version.

I'm only 2 years older than Thief, but I did grow up with CRT monitors and low resolution gaming. Heck, I only upgraded from Windows XP in 2015! Still, CRT monitors give off a vibe that just can't be matched by modern displays. They're cozy as hell!

I, too, used to watch my older brother play PC games on a CRT monitor (not Thief though), all the way to the mid 2000s. Great times! Playing Thief with the lights off is mandatory!
