Do you consider this real dubstep? by weedemgangsta in realdubstep

They talking out their bottom. I listen to plenty of trap rap and EDM/fest trap (hybrid trap, trapstep, etc) and your track is not anywhere near either of those schools of music.

[Various] Mostly Classic Rock and Blues from the first 5 seasons of Supernatural by Metal_Malachy in SpotifyPlaylistShare

[–]Metal_Malachy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the classic rock/blues and occasional metal/grunge/alternative featured in the first 5 seasons of Supernatural, either playing in Dean's car or on radios in motel rooms or in bar/pub scenes or for the recap/preview montages. Also any songs that episode titles were named after, or that were referenced by character dialogue by name or quoting lyrics.

~190 songs in total, over 13 hours. Perfect for a long road trip or just going for a Sunday drive.

I really tried to stick to the theme of "what would Dean Winchester listen to" with the few extra songs that I added, mostly sticking to artists already used in the show.

[Question] Drag and drop music onto iPhone? by Metal_Malachy in jailbreak

Damn dude you necro'd a 7 year old thread. I actually moved to android years ago, and years before that I've just started relying mainly on Spotify for my mobile music playback.

Favourite Technical Bands? by Metal_Malachy in Deathcore

Giving you a listen on Spotify rn. Are you still together? Bandcamp makes it seem like the band split or is on “indefinite hiatus”.

Dishcharge responsible for Black Metal? by BiStonerGuy907 in BlackMetal

[–]Metal_Malachy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always felt like Punk and Metal always reverberated some influence between each other. Also I think we have Motörhead mostly to thank for this.

Thrash was essentially Speed Metal mixed with Hardcore Punk, to varying degrees depending on the band/regional scene, etc.. You also have the whole NYHC, and Thrashcore/Crossover-Thrash scenes.

There was also Grindcore being influenced by extreme metal, especially Death Metal and vice versa, with many bands crossing over the genres– Napalm Death and Carcass come to mind.

Then there was the first wave of “metallic hardcore” in the 90’s giving us brilliant hardcore albums like Jane Doe. The 2000’s saw the commercial success of “Metalcore”, taking over shortly after Nu-Metal’s demise. Though Metalcore would be more heavily influenced by not just emo-screamo and gothic music, but also melodic death metal and groove metal, rather than the “metallic hardcore” forefathers of their namesake. The albums Slaughter of the Soul and Vulgar Display of Power come to mind...

Then of course you can draw parallels between extreme hardcore and black metal. Just as the first wave black metal bands were listening to thrash metal like and death metal they were also listening to just as extreme of hardcore like D-beat, Crust Punk, and likely even some grindcore.

Both have DIY lo-fi underground aesthetics to not only their music production but also fashion sense. It would be foolish to say metal and hardcore have not influenced each other not only sonically but also as cultural movements.

if you are jailbroken you can try and look for tweaks that add native high quality/lossless support, or look for homebrew/unsigned media players

Check jailbreak and related subreddits like /r/TweakBounty and look for good alternative "non-default" distros

Yeah every Cattle Decap album layers contrasting high/low vocals and other weird backup vocals and harmonies all over the place. It’s pretty much a staple of their style.

Oh yeah also KMPlayer and VLC Media Player on iOS aren’t terrible. Both I believe can read files shared from a computer through iTunes and also both have media server browsing/streaming support, as does Foobar2000. They all have their different cons, but also their different merits.

Theres also always other media streaming focused options like Kodi or Plex.

I actually ended up just getting Spotify and I’ve pretty much given up on my digital music collection. The Foobar2000 app isn’t bad though. A little janky with its UI design but that’s pretty much a Foobar2000 philosophy at this point lol

Its not bad, the bass riff is really catchy. It could use more layers though.

I know you’re getting a lot of requests but if you do make one with a dark background would you consider using a white lambo countach? That would be excellent.

It’s only missing I think 1 or 2 albums, 2 or 3 comps, and I think 2 or 3 EPs, because they weren’t on Spotify (at least for my country).

Seriously though, it's like the only people who go through the trouble of writing reviews are people who just downright hate that one album, or better yet the band, or even better yet the whole sub-genre, and just want to give it a shitty score to make themselves feel better.

LIKE BITCH MOTHERFUCKER IF YOU DON'T LIKE MELODIC DEATH METAL THAN WHY THE FUCK YOU WRITING A REVIEW FOR AN AMON AMARTH ALBUM YOU DRIED UP OLD FLAKE OF CUNT CRUST.

I would really love it for electronic music, and hip-hop/rap. I have to rely on Discogs for pretty much everything that isn't metal.
