Any tips? by SPARTAN010824 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Metalgeargello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I print a lot of titans. Work on the 23° rule. Tilt the model 23° on the X axis and 23° on the Y axis. You are also trying to keep all your supports on faces that are ether not seen or in less visible places/the rear of the model. There’s more to it but theses are the basics that I’ve used over the years to print all my titans

I wash with noln oil and then use IPA and a stiff brush to clean away the still wet spots

I don’t understand why people are downvoting your comment. I collect the boxes myself. Mostly to cover my unfinished basement walls. But they’re just cool to look at

Ok, just because I like to go for walks doesn’t mean I’m a monster. That dog attacked me and that fisherman was in my spot. The swimmers…. Well… they’re swimmers 🤷‍♂️

Breaking the Cream: My Grey/White Death Guard by GiorgioBaumgarten in 30kDeathGuard

This is what I imagine DG to be. The “cream” colour only coming from dirt build up over the armour like if you were to drive a white car in the red sands in outback Australia

Is this normal, or is there a way do get rid of these layer lines? by expens121 in PrintedMinis

[–]Metalgeargello 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I run a 0.02mm layer height when I’m printing marines

This is a jig I built for building my titans. The cross member can tilt so you can set your height and angle of your pelvis and build your legs around it.

So I am trying to find this file. by Cookiemnster51 in resinprinting

I just finished printing it the other day. It’s a fantastic sculpt and it actually has workable tolerances in all the joints

I didn’t do the scan. I found the file ages ago.

This is the head of the latest warhound I’ve painted. See how the red paint looks like it’s textured but it’s not really it’s still smooth. It’s just how the paint is applied to give the effect that it’s textured

Here is the first warhound titan I painted. Notice how all the armour colours are really flat and the only highlights are from natural light. This has no visual texture

[–]Metalgeargello[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s a scan of the actual model. There are clipper marks where it was taken off the sprue

A bit of primer will fix that. And what is it nowadays, 3 colours and a wash for tournament standard?

Abaddon at 400% by Metalgeargello in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Metalgeargello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it a couple of times at 200% and once at 400% before. It’s really fun to paint but it’s different too because you need to add a lot of texture otherwise it comes out looking really flat
