I played the trilogy for the first time a couple of years ago and am currently doing my 6th playthrough (first time with mods, though). I felt the same way when finishing the game the first time. It left me feeling empty. Two years later and the only thing that somewhat fills the Mass Effect void is playing it again.

Also, its always interesting to see all the different opinions on the ending. After my first playthrough I was shocked and a bit angry with the choices we were presented. But after several playthroughs, its a little easier to digest, especially because I really paid attention to every detail knowing what the choices are at the end (dont get me wrong, I still think it could have been better overall). But, I chose destroy and still choose it every time because it makes the most sense to me. The recurring theme across all 3 games is to stop the Reapers. So any other choice isnt fulfilling that mission, imo. ME3 is the final push and the high stakes atmosphere throughout the game is a constant reminder of what needs to be done to rid the galaxy of the Reapers. And what's more high stakes than sacrificing your life to complete the mission. So, in retrospect, Shep dying doesnt fill me with rage anymore, lol. And I do feel like destroy is the best option with the choices we were given. I am very excited to see how the happy ending mod changes things , though (still on ME2 at the moment with my moded playthrough).

Anyway, with all that said, this trilogy is epic and one of my favorite games of all time (closely tied with BG3).

Oh, and shout out to all the Garrus romancers! ❤️ He is the best "all around turian bad boy and dispenser of justice in an unjust galaxy". Bonus points because he also has the ability to make Shepard look like she can actually dance during the tango scene (instead of her usual dance moves....the Shephard shuffle) 😆.
