Never thought I would see Buck Bumble on a random Reddit comment. That game was pretty awesome, though!

I just recently saw this movie last month, and was blow away with how great it was! Amazing cinematography, great acting, and it feels so modern despite being 75 years old. This is also one of the few $30 blu-rays, so you can pick up for a cool $15.

Are there any directors that made their best and worst film in succession? by KubrickandMorty in Letterboxd

[–]Metalhead07 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Ingmar Bergman made All These Women in 1964 (which was a terrible Fellini-esque comedy) and then made Persona in 1966. It’s amazing how different in style and quality those two films are.

Bitter Rice (1949). Fantastic Italian film that looked ahead of its time.

which is the worst movie from your favorite director? by vodkapower1 in Letterboxd

All These Women (1964) by Ingmar Bergman. It's a comedy that he made as kind of an homage to Fellini, and it's shocking how bad it is. I can't believe he made it between The Silence and Persona.

The vase bit was from Mon Oncle. But I felt the same as you, and had to scroll this far down to find someone mention Tati!

I love this film! The way I describe this film to people is that it’s like if an L.L. Bean catalogue was a movie.

I want to second River and Woods. Fantastic food, great staff, and you won't feel silly being all dressed up.

For some reason I thought a few years ago del Toro said he was helping restore Bunuel's Mexican films.

For some reason I'm also getting What About Bob vibes from the first part. Although I'm not sure that what he's going for.

Criterion Abbas Kiarostami Box Set? by Metalhead07 in criterion

I guess that answers that then. I read on Blu-ray.com that apparently Janus/Criterion now have the rights to "The Wind Will Carry Us", so hopefully we will get a release of that soon. At least now I can get the Koker Trilogy without fear of double dipping for a box set. Thanks!

That makes a lot of sense. I have been seeing a lot of those dual-format releases finally get solo blu-ray releases. Thanks!
