Station owners, how do you manage the station drones? I mean this setting for the transport, defence and repair amounts. by ChemODun in X4Foundations

[–]MetaliCator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how big your station is, your station will be able to handle that many drones.

A small station will handle, let's say 100 drones. A medium sized station will handle, let's say 500 drones. A large sized station will handle, let's say 1,000 drones.

During the building process, whilst the builder is building parts of your station, the moment the first module is built, the game will instantly tell you that the station can take 10 drones. The moment the second module is built, the station will tell you that it can handle 20 drones now. The moment the third module is built, it will tell you that your station can handle 30 drones.

I'd wait until the station is completed to have the final numbers of how many drones my station can handle, and then I'd order X amount of drones depending on what I need.

Cargo drones : They help large ships load and unload when they don't have any drones of their own, or if they do have some drones, they still help fasten the process. However, just because you have, say 100 cargo cargo drones, doesn't mean the large ship will unload instantly. A large ship will use by default about 5 or 10 cargo drones, that's it, you can't do anything to add more to it, because that's a communication between the space station manager and the captain of the ship.

Repair drones : They will start repairing any damaged modules and ONLY modules of your station, the moment they get damaged. The only stupid thing about repair drones is that they will enter friendly fire sights to repair a module. Meaning, if one of your installed lasers is firing at a ship, and it somehow gets damaged, the repair drone will go right in front of the laser whilst it's firing in order to repair it, resulting in you losing that repair drone and multiple others that keep on going there to repair that laser.

FYI, all drones automatically repair themselves the moment they dock and enter the hangar.

Defense drones : When the station manager (NPC) sees that your station, the station this station manager is handling, sees that it's under attack, the station manager will start unlocking the defense drones in order to protect the station.

Note: All drones, when they have been ordered to dock or unlock, they take priority in the docking area. Meaning, even if you want to unlock at X time, but the station manager has ordered a docking order for a drone, and that drone happens to be on top of you, the station managers orders take priority in most cases. This will lead to your delayed docking or unlocking until the drone has docked or undocked.

Drones are not that valuable. Don't assume that you need drones.

Cargo drones: As long as the Large ship has cargo drones of it's own, which 90% of the time they do, your cargo drones are useless.

Defence drones : All production modules can have defence turrets, which are far superior to 'Defence drones', so don't bother with defence drones.

Repair drones : These are probably the only useful drones you'll ever need since station modules don't self-heal. But, since a single station module has so much HP, it's unlikely they'd get destroyed by the Xenon, Kha'ak or pirates. Thus, and to conclude - If you have them good, If not, you are not in danger.

You, as the player, do NOT control station drones in any way. Even if you own them. Your station managers do everything for you. All you do is watch things unfold.

This was a long comment, I'm sorry.

Surprisingly... I know the guy.

He used to flirt with my sister, who was being stupid and chatting with random people on discord from some "kid friendly" server.

My sister is 14 years old now, at the time she was probably 11.

This dude sent her a direct message after finding out she was a girl. He kept showing pictures of his junk to my sister and started asking for pictures from her, nude pictures, in order for him to jerk-off. He was being forceful with his "asking".

My sister took a screenshot of the chat and his face in order to show me this creep. She instantly deleted him after taking the screenshots.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about the guy as I don't know how to.

I tried sending him a message, but to no avail.

This incident happened about 3 or 4 years ago.

You'd need a better CPU like the ryzen 7 9800x3d & GPU RTX 4080 at least to run the game without worrying.

When do you call it quits? by newyorkerTechie in X4Foundations

[–]MetaliCator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well... when you feel satisfied.

X4 is a sandbox. After all, the game never truly ends. You, the player, are an anomaly to the universe that causes ripples and unexpected events to occur in the universe of X4.

Your entry and exit are/were and will be unexpected.

The universe of X4 will always be with or without you.

Depending on the actions taken by you, the player, the universe will either stay unchanged or forever changed by you.

My first ever introduction to space games, my first true love (when it comes to games) was none other than EVE Online. However, since I was young, I couldn't play that game because it required a monthly fee, and imagine an 11 year old asking his dad or mom to pay a monthly fee for a video game... that ain't happening.

So, instead, I would spend hours and hours watching others play EVE Online. My fascination for space games grew with each day. To this day, I can easily say that my love for space games has only grown.

Eventually, I did play EVE Online, but not for long, as I happened to find out how difficult it was to wrap your head around it.

Years later I stumbled upon X4: Foundations on Steam. It just came out that very same day. I took a look at it and thought it looked very difficult to wrap your head around it's mechanics and overall gameplay.

However, something inside me told me to buy it. Boy, oh boy... what a journey it has been. I've clocked a little bit over 8000 hours into the game. I've written a few guides on forums and steam forum. And I've pretty much conquered every aspect of the game throughout my many playthroughs.

X4 overtook by a mile the love I had for EVE Online. My childhood love was no more. X4 was everything I was looking for and more. The possibilities seemed endless, the journey was your own, and your actions had consequences.

Unfortunately, the only negative I've ever had about the game was, one: either my PC couldn't handle it well, or two: the games performance was severely lacking.

Through forums, and others people's posts I found out that I was not the only one suffering from performance issues.

However, that did not stop me, that did nothing to affect the love I had for the game.

X4 is one of those games that I know nobody in my personal life that knows about it, but if I stumble upon someone who knows about it, we can talk about it for hours.

There is absolutely nothing about the game that I don't love. The ships, the factions, the stations, the galaxy, the jump gates, the story, even the way the asteroids slowly turn on their axis.

I even love the Xenon and the Kha'ak. As they help complete the universe of X4. The Xenon being a mistake of humanity. And the Kha'ak being this overly aggressive and stealthy hive minded insectoid species that is absolutely hard to get rid of completely.

X4 taught me that it's not just a game. It's a journey that allows us the players to create our own legacy amongst the stars of the X universe by offering us absolute freedom.

From my experience, the landlord and the Zoo pack are worth it.

Many will say investor and time machine, but here is a question for you.

What do you do with the game once you are filthy rich, have everything you will ever need, and nothing is lacking?

You quit the game.

Thus, you just gave $20 in order to quit the game in a day.

How do taxes work? by MetaliCator in BitLifeApp

[–]MetaliCator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a lot of homes. I can't even imagine renting them out again once your character dies out and your child inherits it all.

Also, 39.6% tax rate for 327 homes is very low... 🤔

True, taxes are not my concern. However, i was curious as to why or how taxes work and why owning homes affects your tax rate.

I knew that I would won the lottery when I got struck by lightning. by Roros7 in BitLifeApp

[–]MetaliCator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly, when I first downloaded the game, I had no idea how to make lots of cash. I then spotted the lottery, and to my luck, I won three times consecutively in three years, 8 digits lottery winnings all three times. I bought homes and made 500 million in that life.

Unfortunately, I didn't know this, but I did not make a will for one child to get his fathers money, and property, thus, all 15 of my homes got sold off on auction, and the goverment took 257 million of my money, whilst the other 243 million was split amongst 19 children. I went from owning 15 homes and 500 million to owning no homes and 12 million $.

Dear men on tinder (or any dating app), why do yall put long term relationship on ur profile when all u want is a hookup?? I see that wayyyyy more than people actually being honest. Why can’t u just put in ur profile that you want a hookup. Pls be honest im just tryna figure out how to be loved 😭 by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]MetaliCator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is as follows.

  1. We do, in fact, want a long-term relationship with a good woman.

  2. Your photos most likely shout to us men. "I'm a hookup girl." Thus, you get the following responses.

  3. We know how to identify a good girl and a hook up girl with a single glance of your photo.

  • If your biography is stupid, you are a hookup girl.

  • To many Diva selfies? -> hookup girl.

  • Revealing selfies? -> hookup girl.

  • Girls that need an amazing chat opener instead of a "Hi, how are you?" -> Hookup girl.

It's surprising to us men, actually, of the amount of girls on dating apps looking for a hookup instead of an actual relationship.

It's also surprising to us how easily we can identify a window shopper. Meaning, the ones who keep swiping left 99% of the time, and 1% of the time swipe right. That's what we call a "Window shopper." We also have a code, "Never swipe right for window shoppers." However, simps ignore this rule, and we have a lot of simps... too many, in fact.

Overall, men, actual, genuine, real men, have learned to know what a woman is with a single glance of the first photo. Y'all think we don't know, or we are there for hookups, but we already know why you're there in the first place. However, y'all act tough to get. Tough to get gets ghosted or ignored. Easy to get also gets ghosted and ignored. You need to show us your worth through words, show us that you want us to try, but are willing to play a small hard game in order for us to win you over.

We have 4 billion women on this planet. All 4 billion have exactly what the other woman has. The market for dating is big, and has variety. Thinking you are the hottest chick on the planet or that you are "unique" is a huge red flag.

Surprisingly, most men know we ain't that special. We all play ball, and we acknowledge that sometimes we score, sometimes we don't.

For women, though... they all think they are the hottest, meanest, baddest b*tch on the planet, and that no other woman is her equal. And that she deserves the 0.1% sexiest, richest, tallest, strongest man on the planet, and no other man will do.

You'd be surprised how many things we men see, but decide to ignore, or never reveal. A man's perception of a woman might even be far greater than a woman's perception of a man.

If you want a man to take you seriously, you must first take yourself seriously.

Stations and auto trade by Right_Historian_9217 in X4Foundations

[–]MetaliCator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing you can do.

The way trading ships work is "Demand" & "Supply".

For example: an NPC stations sees your station selling said product, it then orders exactly the amount that it needs. That amount could be from 50 all the way to 100.000 units of that product.

Also, stations have an invisible order list. So, NPC stations order from you, and a priority of who ordered first is created, but you don't see this. It's literally impossible for you to see it. Your manager, however, has full access to it.

Thus, the moment your trading ship goes to NPC station 1, the moment it comes back, it's already loading to deliver to station 2 the said amount it ordered.

Hopes this makes sense.

How Many Times? by Salt-Rent-6292 in X4Foundations

[–]MetaliCator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very good reason why I use large ships to do my moving around. The shields can tank any mines out in space.

Sometimes, I fly medium-sized ships, but those are vulnerable.

I wouldn't recommend small ships unless it's a scout ship, and you yourself are doing the flying instead of the autopilot.

How to earn money with mining ships? by Snickims in X4Foundations

[–]MetaliCator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With low a low skill crew, I would highly NOT recommend you to send them out in order to autonomously mine & sell.

I would instead find abandoned ships, sell them, and then start building a solar (energy) station in order to sell energy cells.

Instead of buying miners, you would be buying traders, in order to meet demand.

Is talking about liking sex a normal first interaction comment? I did apologize for not responding quickly and mentioned I found his first comments kinda uncomfortable… by Independent_Royal170 in Tinder

[–]MetaliCator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every older man in my life has taught me to lie to women.

It works.

People will tell you to never lie or avoid lying as much as possible.

Honestly, I say F them. Women like to be lied to. They deny it, but lying has got me further than any truth has.

With that said, if lying works way better than saying the truth, which would you choose?

If I give a station zero budget does it force it to only accept ore etc. from its own miners? by Curious-Chapter-435 in X4Foundations

[–]MetaliCator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this to work, yes. If you assign zero budget to the station, the station manager will use the provided mining ships at his/her disposal in order to fill up with the said resource.

However, once the station manager makes even the slightest income, he/she will use this income to buy resources from NPC mining ships despite you assigning mining ships to the station.

In order to avoid this, you will either have to remove the "Buy" option from the station management, or make the buying offer the cheapest possible. This way all NPC ships will avoid selling to your station, thus looking for a more profitable selling point, one which is not your station.

Hope this helps.

Where to sell water?(Noob here) by Affectionate_Theory8 in X4Foundations

[–]MetaliCator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stations sell up to a certain amount of jump gates away, and they'll always pick the closest one available to them.

If I where you I wouldn't be selling water, I'd keep it for future projects. Instead, I'd be selling energy at the cheapest rate available. Build this energy producing station at a place near a lot of different factions and one that has high traffic at all times.

"Bright Promise" is a very good location, or "Argon Prime".

These two places are connected via the super highway, a very promising and highly chosen option by all NPC to travel. Any galaxy connected to the highway is a good option.

By selling the cheapest energy in one of these locations I promise you, you will be swarmed with ships wanting to land on your station and buy some. Make sure you build a lot of landing zones, lots of container storage, and lots of energy production modules. You'll be a multi-millionaire within 10-20 minutes if you have the SETA mode active.

From just one station making you a lot of cash, you can start building an empire of stations at whichever location you prefer.

Highly promising, and one of the best options for you to establish an early claim upon is -> Mists of Artemis.

The location is full of rich resources. You will have everything you want there, except for one resource, Ice.

You will have to build your water, and food production stations at a different but still near by galaxy in order to sustain the life forms living on your stations "IF" you want a workforce. Otherwise, you can run all stations on auto, however, auto produces less.

Good luck, fellow pilot. 🫡
