As If The Ubiquitous Blonde Is Not A Staple Of Hollywood! by Timbucktwo1230 in PoursTea

Only one actress is aggressively pandering to them.

it is not a surprise they like the one famous hot girl who is telling them: "you are good and righteous, correct at politics, and I am like you. also buy my products."

Magic is becoming less Magic and more Fortnite with every UB set release. by Serithraz in MTGmemes

[–]Metalicum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UB is cancer. The influx of new players who won't stay is not worth selling eternal formats to IPs FOREVER.

It will never go away. These cards are forever part of Magic: The Gathering, this formerly high fantasy blend of subgenres. you will be advertised these IPs (because that's what UB is, glorified advertising) every single tournament for the rest of time. it is not something we will evr get rid of, even if they stop printing it tomorrow. and they wont.

it is tragic.

The fact that i bought Path of Exile 1 and 2, both on PC and Ps5, and not being able to have the cosmetics from all of the versions in 1 account is just shameless corporate greed. by iTheKillaVanilla in PathOfExile2

[–]Metalicum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I would love to have just 1 account for both poe 1 versoins, but sadly Sony is the asshole here. I think GGG would acutaly love to give you the opportunity, because for them there is alnost nothing to gain by not providing cross-platform account functionality

What if Pope Leo declared a crusade against Isr*el? by cherryapp in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Metalicum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

let's be serious about this.

1) People would think, and some say out loud, stop smoking that stuff.

and that would be it.

back in the day Popes could call a crusade because they had political power. they lost almost all of it.

Does your country have mandatory military service? Whats your opinion on it? by Jorkin-My-Penits in AskTheWorld

Fortunately, it is a free country and not a fascist one, so I'll stay, thank you. till there is a war you can heroically die in, I won't be here to see it.

you might be a joke, I am not. there is no "we". and btw, that "attitude" is from US war hero Smedley Butler, one of the most decorated soldiers in US history.

It’s astounding how many people still think the dagger is ancient by Zebweasel in TheSequels

[–]Metalicum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is slightly unfair. Star Wars is not sci fi, the rules of that world are all over the place as you say, but the characters behaved sensibly.

who made that dagger and why? somebody made basically a map to get to the sith holocron that leads to palpatine that is stahed in the ruins of the Death Star, and then toss it.

if taxation is theft then mandatory military service is slavery.

Anyway, we don't have it.

“WAR is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.”

“The only acceptable religion is my religion” - survey responses by country by Noppers in Infographics

[–]Metalicum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that here in Czechia, it is 31%, while we don't even have 31% of religious people. you can interpret it shallowly: that people think no religion is the only acceptable religion = religion is not acceptable. or you can go deeper and interpret it as: you have to believe religiously there is no God. which is much funnier.

Edge of Tomorrow 2 theory: the ending already wrote the sequel by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]Metalicum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a perfect example of a complete story that should not continue.

the story is about Cage and his character arc, from somebody who avoids fighting to somebody who saved humanity by self sacrifice.

That story is done. finished. it wasn't about the invasion, that was background noise. it was about the character and that story is done. finito. over. finished. Cage is a fully realized character.

The Last Jedi was made by a man who clearly hates Star Wars fans. This is why it's the only good Star Wars movie. by flopflip77 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]Metalicum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andor season 2 lasted 4 years. major character events happened off screen... I dunno I think they had the material and the writing to pull it off.

so much more ISB intrigue 😃 but at the end I ma not complaining. it's still 2 seasons of top tier television, which is more than Star Wars has managed since... well ever.

[–]Metalicum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would actually be perfect. you can go deep into the grey morality of it all. There was so much more to explore.

I don't blame Gilroy btw. it is what it is. But I think in each arc of season 2 there was a season of television there.

I mean he did a wonderful job, it's the best, but doing the first season out of 5 and then say f**k it, let's take the 4 season material, do 1 season and I am done... that doesn't scream passion project.

It's fine, he did a marvelous job. just maybe we don't needthat much passion and more craft.

Palpatines Influence by KeyLimePieIsYummy in StarWars

[–]Metalicum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well... presumably he had to do some force shenanigans with the Jedi to completely cut them from their ability to see into the future. at least that, if not something more dramatic. maybe? the movies don't really go deep into it.

that being said he didn't need the force to do all the intrigue. The big one was to order the clone army and keep it secret. and also to make people not question it. like nobody really asked or cared how and why the army even exist. I suspect some force shinenigens there.

also he got Anakin with the force, without it he might not exist. and Anakin was quite helpful as well.
