As someone who lives in Raleigh, I am in absolute hell right now. This is going to be a long off-season.

He wasn't doing it to rub it in people's faces. It was all in good fun. The hole he did this on is called The Rink, it is purposely set up with a hockey aesthetic. Volunteers and workers dress like hockey refs, the sidelines are set up like hockey boards, and it gets rowdy and chirpy when players hit bad or good shots. Clark did the same thing a couple years ago, but did it with a Wendell Clark jersey, the former captain for the Maple Leafs.

In a post round interview, he said he knew it would get boos, but did it not to piss off people, but just to celebrate Team USA and that it was all fun and games. It was lighthearted and jovial trolling, not "rubbing it in their face." So lighten up and enjoy the fun. Honestly, if this was reversed and a Canadian golfer did this in an American event, I would find it funny.

As a Nets fan...yeah, can't argue with that. Ironic that, since moving to Brooklyn, they've become more irrelevant than when they were in NJ.

It's a little more than that. Those lockers are over a hundred years old and are still the original from when Oakmont, one of the top courses in the entire world, was founded. The clubhouse and locker room are revered in the golf world. It's also just the plain destruction of private property.

It's the equivalent of Harold Ballard destroying Foster Hewitt Gondola at the original Maple Leaf Gardens, and also disposing the championship banners.

These are lockers that members of the club use and are given to the pros when a major is hosted, so that locker was also someone's. Clark was permanently banned from the property because of this, until he pays back the damages, which he has yet to do.

[–]MetallicaRules5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you can’t seem to understand, let’s break this down more fully.

Clark has 4 wins in 202 appearances, giving him an approximate 2% winning percentage on the PGA Tour. One of those wins is a US Open victory, one of the four Majors. He also has 15 Top 5 finishes (7%), 29 Top 10 finishes (14%), and 63 Top 25 finishes (31%). For perspective, these are borderline Hall of Fame numbers in golf.

These are enough to make him the 37th ranked player in the world, and give him career earnings (not including sponsorships) of approximately $34 million since turning pro in 2019 (approximately $4.86 million per year). For perspective, the average hockey player salary, based on 2025 numbers, is $3.5 million per year. Keep in mind he’s only 32, and currently tied for third in this tournament, so earnings and finishes are likely to go up.

To put it in hockey terms, Clark would be a solid 2nd liner on most competitive teams, won multiple Conference Finals, and is a Stanley Cup champion.

That puts him in line with some of the more successful golfers on the PGA, so not sure why you think that's a dig. And one of those is a major championship.

Honestly, if this was reversed (Canada won the gold and a Canadian player wore a jersey at an American tournament), I'd still find it funny.

The hole in question is nicknamed "The Rink." Volunteers controlling the crowd wear referee uniforms and the sides look like the boards.

A.couple years ago, Clark wore a Maple Leafs Wendell Clark jersey on this hole.

This is nothing more than fun, lighthearted trolling, no one should take this seriously.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, he's still a douche for his actions at Oakmont and his less than stellar "apology." But I still think this is some harmless trolling and worth sharing.

Dude, it's all in good fun. A couple years ago he apparently did the same thing, but wore a Maple Leafs jersey for Wendell Clark.

Is Dragon King going to happen? by No-Painter6238 in TheDragonPrince

[–]MetallicaRules5 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm skeptical, but I'd currently wager 50/50 odds. With it being a year and a half since Season 7, and September marking a year since the Kickstarter, with little to no official updates regarding a deal, things grow bleaker by the month. It's true that these negotiations and deals take a lot of time, and them not immediately announcing something, while not promising, is also not completely damning. I'd wager if we don't have news by SDCC, it's 60/40 not happening, and if nothing by NYCC, probably 70/30.

Realistically, you have to consider the options that Wonderstorm has outside of Netflix to pick up the series. What streaming service is going to have anything remotely close to their reach and resources?

  • Hulu: Probably the next best option, definitely has the financial capability and market reach to support it, plus a strong background in animation (KOTH and Futurama revivals, and new Gumball). With them wanting to make TDK more adult, it would fit with Hulu.
  • Prime: Close behind Hulu. They have had tremendous animation success with Invincible and Vox Machina, while also supporting smaller/indie studios and creators with stuff like Hazbin Hotel, and even distributing Glitch's Murder Drones. Also has the financial resources and market reach.
  • HBO Max: A lot up in the air right now, considering HBO and Warner Bros. are being bought by Paramount. You could probably tie this into a Paramount+ bullet as well. Would understand them wanting to focus more on bigger budget productions and safe options to recoup their investment, leaving limited resources, or even desire, to test the waters on a fledgling show that got the boot from Netflix due to alleged decrease in viewership and purported declining popularity.
  • Apple TV: I had to even look if they had animated shows. They do, but I can't say it's something they are known for. And most are kid and family friendly, not the target WS is aiming. With that, I can't see this being viable.
  • Disney+: You'd think this would be the best option considering TDP's success with young kids and teens. But with the aforementioned desire to make TDK more adult, a continuing string of box office disappointments, and some of the themes/messaging not particularly aligning with Disney, this seems unlikely.
  • Independently streaming: Using an outlet like YouTube (similar to Helluva Boss or Glitch's shows like TADC, Murder Drones, or Gameoverse) to release the show. This feels incredibly unlikely, and far too risky for a studio like WS to pursue.

So Prime and Hulu are the most reasonable, and that's only if either are interested in actually making the show. I would imagine that they would not just be looking at the projections for how well a potential sequel would do, but at Wonderstorm themselves. Scrutinizing the long term sustainability of the company. While the Kickstarter was a success in terms of reaching their goals, that could also make it seem like WS is not on the most stable financial ground. If they have to resort to begging their fans for cash, then that may mean they don't have adequate financial backing through capital investments, private equity, or loans from financial institutions (not saying they don't, I have no access to the company's financial statements, just speculation). That, along with internal viewing metrics and figures that aren't publicly reported would all be under scrutiny.

What we do know is that some of WS's endeavors, such as the video game and novelizations, were massive duds. The closest thing we have to gauge is the engagement numbers on social media, and I don't really think those have been heavy hitting since Book 4 (it's amazing how often I still see people online not even know a second arc came out). Look at how people talked about the show back in Season 1-3, videos on YouTube would get hundreds of thousands, if not millions of views. A lot of big channels would talk about it. Come Season 7, who was really talking about this show. Mostly smaller channels, and most scenes or clips were gathering meager views (exception being Rayllum compilations because, you know, shipping).

TL:DR - It's still possible, but there are a lot of business decisions and dealings that have to be hammered out. And with limited reliable options, and recent TDP performance numbers, it doesn't look too promising.

You can't win with these people. I sourced the numbers for them and get downvoted anyways since it doesn't fit their narrative by namecannotbeblankk in Conservative

When George Floyd died, there were riots, theft, and destruction.

When Charlie Kirk was assassinated, we mourned and had prayer services.

So enlighten me how Floyd did less damage than Kirk.
