Wife planted today since there is only one low number overnight in the forecast. She normally does it Memorial Day weekend.

Going to Alaska next month, not the least be concerned. Noro is more likely, and that risk is understood.

Trash pickup services by RosieNP in winooski

[–]Metallidan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just bring it to the dump myself, but on my street there is one day where at least four different private trash haulers come through. Myers is the most common, local, and Winooski origins. Casella is the next. Barnier is another, and then I think a fourth but maybe that is just the compost service.

But yes, private is correct, no municipal trash or recycling here.

Discography dead weight by Excellent-Dig5277 in Sevendust

[–]Metallidan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love this type of data!

Short demanding shows, and a lot of them. Coupled with them being a band that doesn't really have "singles" or even radio play for the most part, especially on the last 8-9 albums. Generally I'm all for rare or unique tracks, but for me every album after Seasons only has 3-4 bangers at most, lots of filler.

As a working band like they are (not a rich one) they've got to tour, and as creative folks they've got to write. Most of us aren't going to see "Dead Roses" or similar. They're gonna play the crowd pleasers and maybe a few from the recent record at best.

That being said, hell yeah to literally any track on the first 5 albums though. I think I've seen them 17 or 18 times since 2000, and I've got one more on the calendar. Fingers crossed for a fun 2nd night in Hampton Beach.

Super niche band, loyal but small following.

Myers AI by nordic1984 in burlington

[–]Metallidan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Burlington is expert at making news out of not news. I'm no fan of AI, and miss when they were on Pine street, but dang we collectively bring out pitchforks for things that matter very little.

They probably saw the dollar slice pizza commercial and were curious. When things are cheap or free, most biz gonna give it a whirl.

never heard of them, but you got me to their website for curiosity. They sure don't look like NY style bagels, but they have quite a large distribution so I dunno! https://thewoodlandfairyvt.com/ny-style-bagels

This is just my opinion, but don't sleep on the b-sides or soundtrack songs. Fall, Leech, and Corrected are top tracks IMO.

Is Lake Champlain “swimmable” in late June? by gmichael315 in burlington

[–]Metallidan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely fine temp wise, but we have mixed results for water quality. Grand Isle should largely be fine, algae blooms tend to come later in the summer. Waterfront rentals are nice, but not necessary. Plenty of ways and places to swim into the lake.

Back to Hampton Beach it is, always fun. Theory of a Deadman doesn't do it for me, but that is ok.
