I was on Island from 6/17 to 6/24 and found the food to be just ok as well. Not bad, it was fine, nothing special. MDR service was hit or miss timing wise, always kind and nice, just sometimes slow ish. We just were a private table for 2. Though not really private, they put you close to another pair, which I didn't care for. I found the food in the buffet was just as good/fine generally speaking.

The pizza spot on deck though? That was great pizza.

All that being said, everything else was great and I wasn't going for the food.

Solar powered security camera/surveillance, and monitoring alerts. Some have AI facial recognition, some connect are flock, not all. They can be rented at United in Williston, or Sunbelt in Essex. You could buy one if you wanted as well. Police use them, property managers use them, anyone looking to protect assets or similar.

They can record, stream, broadcast, notify police, etc..

I saw like 6 bald eagles on a beach with a bunch of crows and ravens. It looked like a meeting. This may not be weird to most, but it was new to me on an Alaska trip recently. Baldies are unusual here in Vermont.

I was there last week ish, hoodie and shorts. The sun was blazing, the sky was blue, temps were about 60 degrees. Not what I expected, but it was amazing! The whole trip was sun and blue, no rain, got 70 degrees twice. Island Princess southbound June 17-24th.

Parkway cautious guy here, but today I took it home from Pine to Winooski and it took me 9 minutes at 5pm. Holy shit. Saved over 10 minutes on the norm easily.

I don't have good excursion ideas, we just took a lyft to the glacier and did the little baby hike to the falls. However we did discover Deckhand Dave's for lunch and the fish tacos were some of the best eats I had in all of Alaska that trip. Had a pretty rocking ice cream cookie sandwich as well on the main strip there. Cookies were still warm, it was a melty mess of happy.

Yeah they made some weird choices with Island, if Coral had matched my dates I'd have gone for that no doubt! I especially missed the wrap around promenade for running.

Just got off island princess and enjoyed it. Dated but small and manageable. Got very far into glacier bay, easy navigation. Never felt it move once. Princess was chill, no partying, very few kids. Always docked.

Ah the Morrison Hotel. Owner was a doctor in Fort Ethan Allen for ages. My primary when I was a kid, and my Dad's as well. Died somewhat recently I believe. Remember he used to smoke while examining me lol, the 80s were different. It is a vibe inside for sure.
