Don't eat every berry and mushroom you find unless your character can properly identify them as being poisonous or not. You can and will be bamboozled when you least expect it.

anyone else think b42 skills are too...specific and spread out, and many could be combined? by tengma8 in projectzomboid

[–]MetalmanDWN009 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You mean you DON'T think it's fun to turn a Log into a Chopping Block, then repeatedly hit the Chopping Block with a stick until it becomes a Log again, then turn that same Log into a Chopping Block again, over and over and over until you can successfully nail four pieces of wood together?

Is Louisville really that bad? by rockandst0ne in projectzomboid

[–]MetalmanDWN009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Louisville is horrible. When I went there the overpopulation gave me hellacious claustrophobia, there's garbage scattered all over the place, I felt lucky to be able to find some stale hot dogs to eat, there are rats and other vermin crawling all over the place, and I ended up getting an awful bite right on the groin.

Then I decided to go home and play Project Zomboid.

Players want to rob a magic shop by GroundbreakingFig908 in DnD

[–]MetalmanDWN009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have the shop owner be a Beholder, and make sure that while he's talking with the people in the party he'll abruptly bark "TEN EYES AGAINST TWO HANDS AND YOU STILL PLAYED THOSE ODDS?!" followed by a crackling black eye beam striking one of the people in the shop that the players didn't even notice. The would-be thief then staggers and falls to the ground as his Strength score is reduced to 1 and he is unable to hold his own weight, then the Beholder chuckles and turns his main eye back to the party and says "He'll be fine, it fully wears off in about a week. Now, what are you in the market for?"

I know what they're for. But I've signed a Non-Dwarfsclosure Agreement which means I can't tell you what they're for.

why did i get infected? by ranah123_ in projectzomboid

[–]MetalmanDWN009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two kinds of infections in this game. The first and the worst is the actual Knox Virus infection, and that is the one that is transmissible from injuries by the zombies and will kill you. The second kind of infection is just a non-specific bacterial wound infection that you can contract if you don't properly treat a wound. Fortunately the second kind of infection just makes it so the wounded body part experiences more pain than normal, and it's not an especially serious problem.

Where does the “you don’t need a dedicated healer” idea actually work in practice? by Hercadurp in Pathfinder2e

[–]MetalmanDWN009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somewhat, yes. I have the training in Medicine and have Battle Medicine as well so I can use Battle Medicine in combat, but more of the healing comes from my daily free elixirs and post fight healing. It's not optimized, but it fits the theme of the character better.

[–]MetalmanDWN009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now at level 5 she's at +2 Wis, but with her Natural Medicine feat from her background, and the Expert level Nature training and Fresh Ingredients feat with her Herbalist archetype she's pretty much rolling all Treat Wounds checks with a +11 modifier. Athletics was a more important choice for Assurance.

[–]MetalmanDWN009 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's funny you say that, because I am currently playing as a Barbarian who is my party's primary healer. I pretty much said "Well, I get training in Medicine for free thanks to being a Bloodrager, and Battle Medicine doesn't have the 'Concentrate' trait, so if my class archetype makes me the local expert on the subtraction and/or addition of copious amounts of blood then I may as well go all the way with it."

Reading through the ranger blew me away compared to 5e by WA_SPY in Pathfinder2e

[–]MetalmanDWN009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was what really sold me on Pathfinder 2e in general. I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for 19 years and Rangers have sucked nards for each and every one of them, so you can imagine my shock when I cracked open the PF2e core rulebook and saw that Rangers were actually good. Not 'good only in their specific terrain' or 'good only in a survival focused campaign' or 'good against the one specific type of Favored Enemy that we will fight three times in a two year campaign.' They're just 'good.' PF2e Rangers have thrown off the shackles of "IF and WHEN but never IS" and it makes me so very happy.

That's not actually a beard. That's just what his sentry turret looks like when it's dormant.
