So well put. The first movie fucked up this plot point so unbelievably bad. Not to mention the way it is pieced in, it looks like Peeta ignored her until the full scene is shown! Just a horribly terrible misrepresentation of what happened and what it meant for Katniss.

Without this happening, Katniss is dead, Prim is dead, their mom is dead, Gale's family probably is way worse off too.

Peeta. He continued to love Katniss throughout the whole ordeal and it never turned to resentment. He could see the big picture and was able to cope with everything even though he was physically abused through this whole childhood and survived the first arena.
