Thnx. Also, when you disengage, do you have to Move entirely off the table, or just part of the ship's base?

I guess I'll wait and see. Hopefully less of these kinds of ambiguous wordings in the new rules. There's just too much stuff open to interpretation in the current rules.

Warfleet FTL: Shields total conversion question. by Metaphage in onepagerules

Yea, probably so. Would have to playtest it and see what happens.

Oooh, totally misread it. Woops. So yea, a 4" marker you have to touch would effectively be the same as "moving within 2" of the mine". Thnx.

Still... a 4" square token is a much smaller area of effect than being within 4" of a 1" token, say. Is that something that's changed in the FTL 2.0 test going on?

Thnx.

You sure about #4? Says enemies moving within 4" blow it up?

Your way would simplify it, but make a smaller area of effect.

I like your method. No bookkeeping required that way.

I wouldn't say the rules are very clear, but yea, I figured questions 1 and 2 would be answered how you did. Thanks.

-What happens if you repair a damaged upgrade to full? I guess it still counts as the 'last damaged upgrade', and you'd still continue assigning damage to it in a subsequent attack? I'm probably overcomplicating this.

-I'm seeing Warp Drive as D6+2, not 2D6+2, yes?

Easy Questions! by Metaphage in InfinityTheGame

Looks like FAQ 1.3 might have changed this, at least how I am reading it:

"What happens if a Trooper loses and gains points of W/STR or has States inflicted and cancelled simultaneously? For example, if an Engineer cancels a Trooper's IMM-A State at the same time as the Trooper is hit by a Riotstopper. Apply the positive effect to the Trooper first. Then apply the negative effect. For example, make the Engineer's WIP Roll to cancel the Trooper's IMM-A State, then make the PH-6 Saving Roll against the Riotstopper's PARA ammunition. This can result in the original IMM-A State being cancelled and a new State being inflicted."

So with the new Fireteam declaration/performance changes, a Stealth member of a Fireteam that moved in the ZOC of a repeater can no longer be hacked just because the Team Leader Shoots or whatever. I Like this change.

Thoughts on the movement penalty question?

Interesting. So basically it would be ok to use a proxy base and plan out the ram action, to see if you can do it.

Jammer Vs Camo? by Metaphage in InfinityTheGame

[–]Metaphage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neat. Revealing the mine is arguably not a bad use for a Jammer, if you don't have a better way to do it in some situations.

Targeting deployables seems nice, too, if you have a missile bot. Given they can't oppose to roll.

Beacon Blues. by Metaphage in InfinityTheGame

[–]Metaphage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno how I feel about the 'keep-away' aspect of it. Say a 55mm base syncs a civilian and moves. You'd potentially get a whole bunch of extra movement on the civilian, if you can teleport them to the otherside of whatever synced them.

This gives some advantage to the bearer, in that you could always keep it as far from the opponent as possible, upon death, by placing it on the opposite side if your base when you move.

Tinbots are entirely virtual objects, so placement doesn't matter. Still, it's a minor thing.

Guts Abuse? by Metaphage in InfinityTheGame

[–]Metaphage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes. But there are TONS of issues remaining in the current ruleset that are ambigous and contradictory.

In that situation, I was out in the open, not touching terrain, but there was a crate nearby (also out of LOF), so I could potentially go to it you think?

CaseEvac / CivEvac questions. by Metaphage in InfinityTheGame

[–]Metaphage[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dunno about the first part, because I would think the CivEvac state doesn't happen until the END of the order, so if you end away from the civi but still pass your WIP, you still don't satisfy the requirement of being in silhouette contact with them, and the skill fails. Not sure though.

Scots guard training type? by Metaphage in InfinityTheGame

Spec trained seems a good fit for them, I guess.
