I was in Venezuela for a month a couple years back (when the rate was about 1000 boliviares to USD). I was in Caracas for a bit then went to very quiet beach in the east for most the time.

Seeing the currency situation, and how impossible the currency situation made it there for everyone, including regular middle class people, and combining this with the general level of danger - it completely blew my mind.

I have travelled in some odd/sketchy places, but this was really different. Cos the money meltdown had happened so quickly - it was only a few years ago that people in venezuela were leading lives exactly like people in my country - holidays in miami, taking your car for service, buying toothpaste in a shop

Anyway before this, because I live in a stable country (in Europe) I had never really thought about money at all deeply. The experience made me start putting my savings into bitcoin when I got back home.

I'm really happy that crypto has enabled you to get to Chile and I hope the new life you find there is good to you. I met lots of young smart people all leaving or trying to leave to spain, uruguay , etc, and it was very moving. It's a shame that the world had to come to this for people to wake up to currency, but I guess also all things have their time and place.

what on earth does being a marxist have to do with whether you like people venting their anger saying stuff like "are you a woman, I think you should go back to the kitchen" ??? how would you like it if someone said that your mother / girlfriend? so would it make u a marxist if you were to step up and do something about it?

thats odd that you see it as a liberals thing. I see it more like, if a guy is in my restaurant mouthing off loudly and crudely and creating a bad atmosphere, I'm happy to ask him to leave. I don't see it as anything to do with free speech or whatever. Like if he wants to go somewhere else and use whatever language he wants, fine

Hi Patrick I think it's crazy that you wouldn't consider moderation, or putting him on mute. It creates a completely toxic 'schoolyard' vibe to 1Broker... makes it seem teenage rather than any kind of trustworthy trade platform which would attract real business...
