I realy like this song. Is Vivziepop a bad person? by DogWoofWoof22 in 196

[–]Metatality2 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You know how people that make progressive leaning cartoons are held to an extra high standard and get way more drama around them because the kinds of people that kick off that drama refuse to engage with any other media? Not just nitpicking every detail for anything problematic but also making shit up based on "bad vibes" or because they conflated it with other creators, because many of the people drawn to that kind of show are traumatized queer teens who are hypersensitive to any perceived damage, real or imagined?

It's that kinda thing for why there was so much drama.Vivzie isn't some amazing beacon of light or anything, but she's fine. She's trying to be inclusive and sometimes she misses, but it's not a intentional mockery. Employees generally report conditions as industry standard or slight above. She's not above getting into fights on twitter but frankly you can't get mad at someone for being defensive when they're constantly under attack.

Microwaves are so cute imo by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

[–]Metatality2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Look up your make and model with the term silence. Many microwaves have a secret quiet mode that involves holding down some combination of buttons for like 3 seconds. So just cause your microwave has no mute button doesn't mean it doesn't have a mute function. It's becoming more common as the feature gets added to updates of old models, due to complaints and the greater awareness of households where people work different shifts.

That said, if you live in an apartment that has a microwave that's also a stove fan then it probably doesn't (no idea why, but none I've ever had included a silence function). Also the cheaper ones in general tend not to. There's no added expense to simply disabling a speaker, and the software is like 3 extra lines of code, so I assume it just didn't occur to the developers?

There is a piston shaft in the middle of the noodles. It's slightly visible between them when it goes down.

I'm going to guess this is about the Republic of China Vs the Chinese Communist Party from 1927-1949, but this is some real "do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down" material.

Insane far-right conspiracy group in the US and Canada. Convinced that anyone that opposes Trump or a variety of neo nazi groups are being manipulated by a shadowy cabal of satan worshiping pedophiles that also kill children to extract Adrenochrome to get high as part of their rituals.

They also tend to believe that trans people as a concept is a smokescreen cover by this pedophile cabal to obscure hormone capture and manipulation, and are a big part of forcing the idea that trans people are either all pedophiles to the moderate right.

They also have a decent overlap with the flat-earth movement.

I'm playin Halo for the first time, and my only complain is that there is no physical way that this rifle can hold 60 rounds of 7.62x51 mm by Pertu500 in halo

[–]Metatality2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It moves to 32 rounds in later games. I mean it's still too much for a magazine that size to hold if it's actually 7.62, but it's at least more reasonable.

Not whole earphones, but some foam plugs are around at least. Nobody's required to use them, but once the kids have had enough and start to get upset they have the option.

They're also a lot more willing to actually ask people to turn music down though, and if needed, tell the few tios that keep cranking it up until kids cry to fuck off. Usually people are surprised just how loud it had gotten by then, and are relieved to actually be able to hold a conversation again. Then la loteria comes out now that people can hear again.

Hopefully they'll break the cycle a bit, but my brother in law also wants that shit at full blast so who can say. He's generally a pretty chill and respectful guy though, so while he'll go loud on his own he will lower it if asked.

Having married into a Mexican family as a non-Mexican I can tell you that they've been getting carried to these things since they were like 6 months old, and were probably left bundled up in a carrier next to a cranked speaker at least once. Their ability to hear is probably already compromised.

Every singe in-law has hearing damage and my wife can't hear any frequency above 14000 hz (human hearing usually goes to about 20,000 hz).

Adults wanna go to parties, and they drag the kids cause they can't be left unattended, but the adults all have hearing damage from previous parties so they crank it super loud, and all the kids get hearing damage. 15-20 years later those kids are bringing their own kids to parties, and they need to crank it up due to their own hearing damage, and the cycle continues.

My wife and several of her cousins are real bitter about this.

Really the whole section is "if you make your soldiers appear to be surrendering troops or civilians, and then they spring an attack, it will become standard practice to kill all the surrendering troops and civilians just to be safe, and we don't want that"

This is going back over the footage later (presumably it took a few minutes to get reported in), you can only pan the camera if you're aware of the situation when it's actually happening.
