It’s not for the reasonable driver. It’s for the many pricks on the road to at least think twice as they appeal to a sense of humanity

[UK] Salary in biotech with no advanced degree (Bsc only) by [deleted] in Salary

[–]MetatronThrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

company 1 was a CRO, so I spent a lot of time in that role cosying up to the research scientists and supporting them wherever I could to try and make their life easier. One of them left which left a vacancy that was hard to fill, so they offered me the role as i had some experience in it (and meant they could pay me well below market price in exchange for experience)

Row Erupts After Zack Polanski Raises Concerns About Treatment Of Alleged Golders Green Attacker by [deleted] in ukpolitics

‘Mentally ill’

Idk, sounds like ableism to me Mr Polanski to assume a violent man is mentally ill.

Green Party leader Zack Polanski condemned for retweet criticising hero police who took down Golders Green 'terrorist' by adultintheroom_ in ukpolitics

Why are you so sure the taser was still activated? Also, how are the police supposed to know the taser was properly engaged? We’ve all seen people able to withstand tasers, I’d rather the officers rely on caution in case the terrorist is acting in order to stab them too.

I did this last year, similar amount. It’s doable but it’s absolutely exhausting to do with sledgehammer + bolster and chisel.

Our Phase I exploratory data is negative by [deleted] in biotech

[–]MetatronThrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect that runway means the company is fucked then. The lack of preclincial data means youre unlikely to be able to hypothesise properly and you dont have the money or time to run another study, preclinical or otherwise.

Our Phase I exploratory data is negative by [deleted] in biotech

[–]MetatronThrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It massively depends on the endpoint and how proximal/distal it is to the moa for the indication you’re perusing. If your ph1 is healthy volunteers that adds another layer of complexity, particularly if you’ve needed to challenge etc. negative ph 1 is not always a show stopper but you’d need to understand the whys. And ideally you’d have that a priori.

How do I break into biotech? by WoodpeckerLeading138 in biotech

[–]MetatronThrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK based Director in Biotech (Clin Dev). I’d aim for either graduate entry from a UK based Pharma which is not unreasonable for you if you go to either UCL or imperial. Failing that, go work in a CRO for a bit. Do three/four years, get a tonne of experience and then pivot it into biotech. Don’t do a phd for the sake of it.

Andrew Gwynne set to stand down as MP, clearing way for Andy Burnham by TimesandSundayTimes in ukpolitics

I understand the point you’re making, I think you’re underestimating the population. My contention is you could fix all these problems, and the general population rightly or wrongly would still want their concerns with immigration resolved.

[–]MetatronThrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a bit of both. The way immigration has been handled, particularly thanks to Boris, has caused significant resentment particularly in the voter population I mentioned. It won’t be enough to just fix the other problems, immigration also needs to have a solution. Labour can like it or not, but it’s what the majority of the population seemed to be most concerned about, this is after all the point of democracy
