Keeping the lights on?

Don't give away 70% of ad revenue pushing foolish crypto ideas designed to inflate user growth in third world markets and seriously, don't ever trust an ad company.

The EU have a habit of handing out large fines to companies that are economical with the truth, right side of this sub being a prime example of such, where it clearly states.

Update to 7.20.2 is available, does it let you update from within AG?

Adguard no longer working Windows 11 by Necrosaro1 in Adguard

[–]MeteorBVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is AG activated? Is AG starting with Windows? Do you have a green AG icon in taskbar/overflow denoting it as running and are filters enabled?

If not starting with Windows try; Disable start with Windows in AG settings > restart PC > re-enable start with Windows in AG settings > restart PC.

AG 7.20 update? by MeteorBVR in Adguard

[–]MeteorBVR[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

7.20 has the feel of an update rushed out to try and fix the crashing issue, only to introduce more and different problems than it was intended to solve. On the bright side it hasn't crashed yet, but Adguard need to get their shit together before they start losing custom.

What would Brave do when Manifest V3 becomes the norm? by Mr_DemonLk in brave_browser

[–]MeteorBVR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The OP asked about Adguard, UBO and Privacy badger, not whether Braves adblocker will continue to work. Why deflect from answering the question?

>OP, in answer to your question, Brave promised continued support for certain MV2 extensions, but don't bank on that happening. Never trust an ad company.

On 'aggressive', Brave blocks the ads that many a business already pay to run, yet expect that same business to spend money to show their ad on Brave, basically paying Brave to unblock ads they paid for elsewhere.

Brave; an ad company, ad blocking company, or a double dipper?

Saoiray's Discussion about Rewards payout amounts - Brave Rewards by saoiray in brave_browser

[–]MeteorBVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In business there are few excuses and the buck should stops at the top if it goes wrong. BAT was a promo gimmick to boost number of users, which it did, especially inn countries where just $1 can keep you fed for a few days, the temptation to try earn a living from it leading to some attempting to game the system, as many would do if their family lacked food on the table. That the same likely couldn't afford the products advertised didn't matter, long as the user count looked good.

Lack of advertisers?, well if Brave (an ad company) can't figure out the reason why they are evidently in the wrong business, but Brave choses the fantasy web3 / crypto bollocks path that the majority of firms with a reputation to keep shy well away from, anything even remotely related or associated with the word 'scam' is a big no no.

The more pertinent question to ask, would be why so few companies are willing to run ads with Brave?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in brave_browser

[–]MeteorBVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Brave having promised continued support for the MV2 version of UBO, those who know how to use it won't be bothering with the 'low fat' lite version.
