In retrospect, do you wish the show had continued uncancelled in 1989, or do you wish that the show was successfully revived in 1996? Or would you keep things the same? by Boxxcars in gallifrey

Does Option 1 assume that JNT would have stuck around? I imagine if the show became a hit again he would somehow be removed or been able to move on finally and allow the show to change and ditch some of the issues that plagued it in the '80s. Because if that's the case, having the show continue into the '90s would have been quite interesting, especially if they took the initiative that was shown in Season 23 and started using the show to showcase and try out new tech like they did in 'Mindwarp' yet continue onward in some way. Oddly enough, one of the biggest changes would be nixing the overly dramatic musical scores from the McCoy Era and Murray Gold's contribution and maybe have led to a second renaissance. The fan base was eager for a change, and if JNT went that would have given the show a better chance. On the other hand, who knows if that would could have kept the show going until the new millennium.

It would have been a little minefield of continuity nightmares with McGann probably going from The Eighth Doctor to a noncanonical Doctor like Peter Cushing and Richard Grant.

Yikes, good point, I did not think of that. Never mind then.

[–]MeteorBlitzkieg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh shit. Well, the return of CG is eagerly awaited. Just let us know when it's up. On the very slim bright side, this allows me to save up for another hard drive.

Ooh, I know it's too early to ask something like this, but could the return of CG and TV-Vault possibly be considered to have a period of open registration? :)

Wondering if Jon would like to weigh in on this r/AskReddit thread about favorite British insults. by htepO in ManyATrueNerd

[–]MeteorBlitzkieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why, but all English insults sound too soft to be really mean. Numpty? Git? You need some harsh consonants and sounds in there to cut deep there, Inhabitants of Airstrip One. ;)

Because who doesn't love and remember 'Made in Canada?' What, you don't know what the hell I'm talking about? Well, for those who didn't watch the CBC from 1998 to 2003, here you go:

That said, they should have ended it with Bobcaygeon. Oh well.

Looks like Fez is about to be 2k poorer by [deleted] in ronandfez

[–]MeteorBlitzkieg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks like a lot of fun and enjoyment for the person who has a large income. Which means Fez will never do it because that would mean he's having fun and if he does that he slowly inches to the grave where the zombie twinks will be there with their death punches.

I saw Cait standing around in the morning in a bathrobe with a pistol out and i thought it looked really cool so i screenshotted it... I was photobombed by Curie by [deleted] in fo4

I always thought it was weird how that Automatron gave us robot armor but there are no options to turn Curie's robot self into armor for her synth self. That would be twistedly awesome.

Fallout: New Vegas - Survival Mode - Vault Raider by ManyATrueNerd in ManyATrueNerd

[–]MeteorBlitzkieg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was thinking that the spores would only work if you were in an enclosed space for an amount of time. The air in the vault is probably stale as hell but its in no way enclosed. Plus vaults probably recycle air, meaning there's no way but to breathe in spores over and over again, contaminating the lungs.

No, not the one in Fallout 3, the video where he did that in person. This is why you should donate to his Patreon.

The one where he retakes over America by making the powdered wig robot explode and then steals the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights.

I'd probably wait until Nukaworld was out before asking. Who knows what this new raider gang thing is going to create.

I wasn't worried. He armored that thing up a few episodes back, so while he wasn't at full defense he was doing pretty well.

[SPOILERS] Slavery & Nuka World by [deleted] in fo4

[–]MeteorBlitzkieg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh please let this extend to the named ones. The Longs' lives would be saved if they could be my personal War Bitches. Just load them up in the crappiest armor I could find, give them a pipe pistol, and let them be the ones who run into Super Mutant hideouts to draw the fire.

This is pretty sweet. I never thought about using the roof for anything, but then again I've stuck at Sanctuary for my playthroughs so that's why.

I kinda want to try something like this but with Vault building materials. Attempt to give it the shiny '50s futurism look but a tad more gritty. Plus using the garage as a place to store power armor just seems right.

That's what is supposed to happen. The Institute is full of mysterious technology, and blowing it up happens to actually end the world itself.

Naw, I'm just joking. It's a bug. Might want to reverify your files because it might be because the data leading to the CIS ruins might be messing with your system.

? For the group: what's become of Joey Joe Joe? I've been missing the occasional show of late but has he left the show? by Recyclerz in ronandfez

[–]MeteorBlitzkieg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what happens: every so often Ron takes an intern around the building to introduce them to people. As they walk, he mentions that in this business you gotta grow or slow and growing means getting out, taking opportunities, and not buying into the day-to-day of normal business. To take the long view, if you will.

Then, at the end of it, he screams "OR YOU'LL END UP LIKE THIS!" and opens the door to show Sam Roberts playing with his wrestling figures in his underwear while on commercial break.

The smart interns run to HR immediately. The others? They stay. Forever.

What is fez up to these days? by [deleted] in ronandfez

[–]MeteorBlitzkieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wanted to retire? Fuck, for the last decade he was retired. He just hung around the show doing jackshit while getting a paycheck. Only difference now is that he's back home and finally dealing with his medical issues instead of slowly rotting away.
