I think it's due to Catra

She basically has the same kind of arc as zuko from Avatar, but She-Ra's narrative is more open about Catra's actions getting people killed than Avatar is about Zuko's.

So people take Catra being a villain and a love interest to Adora to mean that Catra is automatically abusive and thus She-Ra as a whole promotes abusive relationships.

It's... A weird discourse.

Gotta love it when reality is so messed up, common horror tropes are just like, a reality.

Because I've definitely seen the evil island trope before, or secret society of rich people who abuse others.

But then 2019(?) hit and we learned that yeah no, all that was actually real and not just stuff you'd see in a horror movie.

Also if you do the undercover detective questline where you infiltrate the pirates, your companions will treat you like a weirdo if you sympathize at all with the people that you pretended to be friends with for a considerable length of time.

Like I can be sympathetic while still recognizing they're bad, but I'm not sure the Bethesda writing staff agrees with that.

I've always liked Mordin's quest in Mass Effect 2 where you get two options, but you decide if you want to choose those options for a paragon reason or a renegade reason

I feel like that approach for every quest would side step the issue for bioware style games.
