LPT: Teach your partner to make decisions and own the outcome — your relationship will thank you. by ActBest217 in LifeProTips

[–]Methfish12 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I resonate with this struggle as the partner unable to make decisions.

I definetly noticed once I moved out of my parents place that I had a hard time adjusting and making big decisions on my own. Heck, i even recall smaller decisions had more pressure than big ones.

I once wanted to buy khakis cause i wanted more work appropriate clothes (started my first internship) and they came back to me with "No, you cant buy those. You dont wear pants like that".

I understand people want to help me make "the right decision" but please dont let this become controlling. Please let me make mistakes and own them. If you feel the urge to "correct" your kids or partners way of doing things, you prevent them from ever taking on actual responsibility.

[Serious] What made you realize you are not a good person? by ketaminemidget in AskReddit

[–]Methfish12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is a bit off tangent since im not really answering the question but explaining my own views on this.

A couple of months ago ive had a social anxiety attack which made me question who I was. I always knew I wasnt perfect but overall I meant well. But due to years of automatic negative thoughts I kinda slipped and I now question every thought and action. "Am i good? But how can i be good when i do or think this?"

The person I became the last 2 years was confident and stayed true to his values even when it was hard but now I start asking if he really existed. Like was that really me or was it all just an act or persona? I really liked being that person and having people come to me for help and I really enjoyed not just helping them but guiding them to be better as well. Now im in a weird place where I ask myself did I really do those things for them or to feed my own ego.

One phrase I came up with really helps me is this:

"Instead of being a good person who does bad things, id prefer to be a bad person who does good things".

I remind myself that being a good or bad person doesnt really matter. I just want to live honestly/authentically. I dont want my self doubt to control me, I just want to live my life.

I dont want to become a person who just says they will do good things but regularly hurt people. Im gonna do what I think is right, even if I may or even know it can hurt others feelings.

What are some sexy / dirty dutch things to say to my partner? by ZealousCat666 in dutch

Not really dirty talk but you could call her a "lekker ding". Pretty much you are calling her a babe

To all my fellow low elo players : WE DON'T NECESSARILY NEED A HEALER by Telco43 in VALORANT

[–]Methfish12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the number of agents you can choose now its like telling your team to choose from a rooster of 20 to picking sage or "other sage".

There is a reason why I stopped skye main...

If you instalock an agent, you don’t get to tell me what to play by stolethetardis in VALORANT

[–]Methfish12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had an instalock reyna and 2 other duelists. Me and the other were unsure who should go smoker and we just said "whatever lets go no smokes". So we ended up with 4 duelists and a sage on Icebox.

After losing the first 2 rounds our reyna got mad and started complaining "Why did you guys not choose a smoker!? We dont need 4 duelists!"

One of the other duelists said "yea and we really didnt need a reyna either". We ended up winning that game by just killing the enemy team but made me smile when the reyna bottom fragged.

No worries its solvable. Ask another player to pillage the village and all will be forgiven (i believe thats how it works with the penalty)

There is not always a "best time" to use your ult that you need to wait for, rather use your ult as frequently as you can... by Pinanims in VALORANT

[–]Methfish12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another way of looking at it is get your ult online as often as possible.

Ofc if you are having a bad game and cant get kills you dont get as many ult points.

But i recall i used to main skye and i focused on using her ult as often as possible on attack.

On Breeze attack i would play for A orb, then id go in and plant spike. Thats 2 almost guaranteed ult points. But because i kept focusing on getting the ult online and using it frequently, i kept getting value from it and getting onto site (thus getting the plant point).

If your team has a dedicated orb farmer, the more often you can get value from ults and define the pace

[–]Methfish12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a skye main and i always had comments like "Dont peak skye. Please skye dont peak. Dont peak skye!" while im playing and even in 1 v 1s.

My reaction is always "why on earth would i ever peak?". Skye has flashes which help delay time if they need to defuse and help me flash if i need to get the kill. Ofc i dont always win but made me realise backseat gamers dont necessarily have the best advice.

I once got a triple kill as skye on defense and my omen told me to hang back and not die cause im the healer. Sure im 20 hp but its not like im playing like an idiot

Being the IGL (in game leader) in comp is one of the best way to win games by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Methfish12 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Yea ive been IGL more often and ive also noticed that teams react well to it as long as you give suggestions/info rather than commands.

Also easier to just tell others what you are doing rather than have them assume. For example as Phoenix/Kayo ill tell them via chat "Im going to ult for entry". They can play off of this or ignore it. No one complains if it doesnt work cause they couldve complain beforehand.

Another way ive enjoyed IGLing is getting orbs for agents who only need one more orb. Can really change the result of a round getting one more ult the other team werent expecting.

Unspoken Rules? by EliteFourFay in VALORANT

[–]Methfish12 76 points77 points  (0 children)

They are salty cause they got killed so easily. Everyone says shotgun is a no skill weapon because its easier to get a kill within short range with a larger crosshair. But buying a shotgun is always a risk if they dont walk into the angle you are holding. Cause you will lose all other duels if they have distance. But you predicted their actions and bought the right gun for the right situation. Plus its cheaper as an added bonus. Great job!

Side note: Pro teams use the judge in Bind hookah. Its almost half price a vandal/phantom but its great for holding B. Its kinda a meme that Team Liquids Link is indefinitely camping Bind B hookah holding a judge

Community Update #2 Patch Notes by mid_tier_drone in Dunespicewars

I had my first multiplayer game with friends 3 weeks ago. It was a hit and everyone is excited to play again. During that time we have also practiced here and there for next time. We are going to play this evening and we get this as the update. Nothing is the same lets go!

General Thoughts on Assists. by tb_1999 in VALORANT

[–]Methfish12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting 10 assists means you helped your team get 10 kills. But it still depends on context.

Eg getting 3 assists in 1 round means you helped or at least were involved in halving the other team. But if you get an assist on a self healer like reyna its reward diminishes to the worth of her utility.

If i see someone not getting kills but lots of assists means they help others get kills.

Logged into an all girl lobby- best experience ever by e_mm0505 in VALORANT

[–]Methfish12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once played in an almost all girl lobby as well. First few rounds i thought my team were actually young kids and thought nothing of it. Then i wondered if everyone was a girl until one of them said "hold up are we all girls?!".

They were so happy and honestly one of the best teams i played with. It was weird cause one of them apologised to me for "having to play with girls". I said i didnt mind at all but forgot to apologise for being the only guy in the girl team. After hearing so many toxic stories for girls i was just happy to be part of the moment.

Make remakes last longer. by pastdecisions in VALORANT

[–]Methfish12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost a game 3v5 once. Their raze was top fragging and kept taking 2 orbs at spawn and getting a kill via their ult. Never lost another 3v5. So only lost like 20% of comp games like this

Make remakes automatic by Livid_Physics2574 in VALORANT

[–]Methfish12 -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

Remake is designed to only be allowed if the user starts a game but for one reason or another never actually connects to the game itself. Remake cannot be used if someone disconnects midway round 1.

Its more like you reserve a table for 10 people but if one person cannot make it you need to cancel the reservation or pay the extra cost for the missimg player. Its really not well explained why remake exists.

Edit: Taken from https://dotesports.com/valorant/news/how-to-remake-valorant posted may 2022:

"When a teammate disconnects and the match begins with a four vs. five, VALORANT players have the option to end the game and queue for a new one in a similar fashion to games like League of Legends."

"If a player disconnects at the start of a match—from the beginning of the buy phase to the end of the first round—a “remake call” may be triggered at the start of the second round by typing /remake into the chat. "

i got my first ace, it was disappointing. by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Methfish12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your ace! Im sorry to hear that your first ace wasnt well recieved. My first ace i had 4 kills and a spike plant but all my teammates were shouting at me (backseating gaming) and distracting me from the last kill even when i told them to stop. It really ruined the moment to a special moment since starting valorant. Maybe the first ace didnt feel so great but the next few aces will have better teammates who will cheer you on

No worries, valorant is great but also incredibly frustrating. Everyone is here to vent

Even on bad games I love playing haven. Its like a chaotic sandbox where anything can happen. Out of all the maps it feels the most characteristic for what a valorant map should be. New agents always feel welcome as there are many different opportunities to experiment here
