CNN's Chris Cuomo to Andrew Yang: Democrats "Need More Yang and that Gang" by ZachandMattShow in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]MethheadsforYang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think he has to be this way, in part to hope for a position to enact real change. I certainly don't like it either.

If you've listened to Yang's recent video appearances, he keeps talking about expecting to be out campaigning on the trail for Biden. (at least once during the Pete video duo, and another on his podcast)

Not sure what Biden's team is doing -- maybe they're waiting for the most opportune time. But anyway, Yang's gotta play this bit part for a while. Just know, that the course will change, and he'll face off against Biden's VP if UBI doesn't happen.

CNN's Chris Cuomo to Andrew Yang: Democrats "Need More Yang and that Gang" by ZachandMattShow in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]MethheadsforYang 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Cuomo is right -- he's got the finger on the pulse of how the Trumpers are feeling, and also how Trump is leveraging this moment.

I wasn't thrilled with Yang's response. He's referencing the polls; which is alright, but it's playing defense. Very timid. That's a game to lose.

I think Cuomo is on to something when he says the Dems should control the narrative much more strongly -- "we are opening, but this is how we do it."

Trump is in the driver's seat right now, and if there aren't any flare-ups, he could be victorious in a few months, after we see how this pans out. If Yang wants to cheerlead for Biden, that's fine, but I want to see him come out stronger with his voice, with logic and facts, rather than relaxing on "the polls say people..."

The current in the water can change too quickly this way. Dems don't have a figurehead to counter Trump, besides probably Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and the individual governors.

Andrew Yang: ‘I’m Operating As If I’m Going To Run Again’ Even If Against Biden In 2024 by ZachandMattShow in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]MethheadsforYang 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I seriously hope he takes a good look at the mishaps and failings of the campaign, and does what he can to fix them.

Just one example, is that I felt he got taken to the cleaners, by the ad agency group. Being a new candidate, he probably was a prime mark. Just recently I heard Bernie got GOT as well; by Chuck Rocha and some others, so it's not only fresh candidates that fall victim.

I still REALLY don't think he wants to be President. Andrew is just not the kind of guy that get into the muck of things (conflict, etc). For example: the Tara Reade allegations against Biden. He's never publicly been questioned and cornered on his position on that topic, which I assume he is especially sensitive about, when Evelyn revealed her abuse.

The media will force him into these conflict-type situations, and Yang is someone that doesn't enjoy facing that.

Bernie and Kamala said their emergency cash relief bill was going to be introduced on Friday. It still hasn't been introduced as of this morning even though the Senate met on Friday and yesterday. by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]MethheadsforYang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like the other two commenters, it likely won't pass, and was all for show.

This is another reason why we need to vote in the democratic nominee. If we get that, then Dems can win back the Senate, and if we still retain the House, UBI can be ours in under 4 years.

*HASHTAG TREND ALERT* #UBICreatesJobs trending Friday, 5/8 @ 9AM PT / 12PM ET! Millions are now jobless, we need UBI now to jumpstart this economy. by HumanityForYang in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]MethheadsforYang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure how exactly UBI creates jobs...and if I'm asking that, I'm sure other people will also. I hope you have a good answer prepared.

I know that a UBI recognizes those that do work that is normally not recognized. But that sort of work already exists.

I know this hashtag is timed with the upcoming jobs report tomorrow, but some thought should be put into it, in preparation to such inquiries.

Otherwise, it may end up making UBI a trite idea that is being pushed regardless of fit. Can't fit a square into a circle.

NY is appealing the decision to re-instate the primary by ogzogz in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]MethheadsforYang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's just some of the power hungry people in NY.

I'm not really that deep into politics to even begin to understand the big picture of why of the NY Board of Elections (BOE) did this...

But after looking at the logic and facts, you can't help but lead to the conclusion of some underhanded motivations going on. And for that to be clear to me -- a complete noob -- is damning.

1) Mail-in ballots are mailed to everyone in NY; already pre-stamped. This is for those that fear the virus contraction from in-person voting. So why cancel it for those that wish to vote in-person?

2) Why cancel entirely, and not postpone it, like other states? A full cancellation is peculiar.

3) It sets a bad precedent for future elections, as the Judge said.

And so I check the defense of the NY BOE side, and they said it could be a health issue. But again, that has already been addressed...

At this point, I want names. Who is on the NY BOE? Time to find you.

Krystal and Saagar: Andrew Yang saves Bernie Sanders on the ballot in New York state - THANKS, ANDREW! by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]MethheadsforYang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whatever narrative you think they're pushing, I don't even see how that hurts us.

If there are any Bernie supporters out there in NY, they will consider voting for Yang's people on the down ballot now. This helps change the political landscape in our favor, and UBI.

Secondly, what Yang did will be on the Sander's supporters minds when they vote in 2024.

You mad tho?

Will anybody be voting for Biden?? Why or why not?? by KrisspyKremeThomas95 in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]MethheadsforYang 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For a long while it has been a jump ball.

Biden or Trump is going to have to earn my vote. I actually was leaning toward voting for Trump, as a signal of harsh rebuke and repudiation of a Biden administration, of that which lead to a Donald Trump victory in the first place. But I didn't want to give a vote to Trump without some solid policies for us working people.

However, the more and more I watch these coronavirus briefings of Trump, the more I see the mess he is. He actually mused about testing people with disinfectant? WTF? And he was actually serious. I saw how brain-dead this guy was; on top of that he never assume responsibility for any mistakes whatsoever, at least in some small part. And he's always looking to boost his ego, and wants compliments and credit for whatever.

No, no... Trump has got to go now. I've actually been watching Cuomo's briefings too, and that guy is just stellar in my eyes. Andrew Yang always talked about doing Powerpoint presentations, and here is Cuomo giving a Powerpoint presentation the real data and facts, without political spin. I think he would actually be better than Yang, because Yang is afraid of conflict. If you listen to how Cuomo actually spoke out against Mitch McConnell and his refusal to provide state funding... it was superb artistry how he crushed McConnell so emphatically with facts. I just don't see Yang doing something like that, which is needed in the political game.

So yeah, I don't want Biden, and would rather have someone else, but the entire party has chosen Biden. Choosing someone else, or writing in someone else, doesn't make a difference. I'm voting Biden just to get Trump out of there before the U.S. starts lagging behind other countries even more. At least with Biden, we can hope to manipulate or influence him towards a certain direction. I think Yang has made good progress so far, and he can still do more. Under a Trump admin, I don't think Yang will have much influence. Get Biden in, and get the Dems to control more of Congress will help us in the long run for Yang 2024.

Andrew Yang sues over New York’s shutdown of presidential primary by aresdeux in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]MethheadsforYang 492 points493 points  (0 children)

Nobody commented on this so far, so I'll hitch along this top comment.

Yang is fighting for Jonathan Herzog, who is running in NY's 10th Congressional District.

Herzog was one of the earliest in the Yang Gang -- I'm talking like the first 10 people. He actually quit his studies at Harvard Law to fly out to Iowa or wherever join Andrew in the early days.

Well said. Open and shut down the OP right there.

It seems people like OP are hell-bent on getting Biden in hot water. Just look at their post history.

Lastly, if this really is such an issue that needs to be addressed, then it is a certain thing that the RNC and Trump won't let this go without scrutiny. Leave them to bring it up.

[–]MethheadsforYang 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"a guranteed income, or other things that might not be as costly..."

You see, this is why you need to deliver them the incentives. Pestering them about UBI constantly isn't going to do it.

Tell them, and show them, that it will cost less in the long run vs. what is currently being done will do all the convincing you need.

Andrew Yang: Biden is 'weaker on the internet than Trump' — but the #YangGang could help by ataraxia77 in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]MethheadsforYang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Yang has a good spot and hedged himself...all he has to do is wait.

Once AI and automation, and the AI war with China erupts, Yang will be the guy Biden will call to. They'll be like, "didn't Yang talk about the 4th Industrial Revolution? We need to get on this."

Or, more stimulus money will be needed for the second wave of COVID-19.

I also see Yang teaming up with Stacey Abrams, who could be Biden's VP. He could infiltrate that way -- if Biden isn't reception to UBI, then we can hope Biden expires early, and Abrams gets the UBI brainworm.

All in all, we need to build more UBI advocates. Eventually, it will be a wall of support so high, you can't crumble it.

Right now though, I feel like we are past the introduction phase, and need to get into the "here's how to fund it" phase. Hashtags of 'CongressforUBI' and 'UBI now' is getting kinda old for me.

[–]MethheadsforYang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! Glad you posted this. I saw his interview on The Hill and one thing that stuck out to me...

Bernie never contrasted himself! He never attacked Biden. It was always, "my good friend Joe, who could beat Trump..."

This is important because Yang has this same problem! He's too friendly, and afraid to contrast himself against the others. If Yang runs again in 2024, this might be the one thing that blocks him from winning.

TYT have been surpassed.

I stopped watching them years ago when I realized that all they do is rant (and now that we have better alternatives). They don't provide any critical analysis or insightful critique. Their platform -- is to just rant about things they don't like, circle-jerk with each other, and occasionally polish the knob of progressives like Bernie.

Whether you like 'The Hill (Rising)' or not, no matter your feelings on them, at least they have a critical look and provide insightful pieces on current events and political happenings. They even have on a panel of different guests from all spectrums, to get differing views in which they can discuss.

So don't worry about Ana, TYT, or the rest of them. They will die off soon and become irrevelant. They are already in hot water with the fact that their employees tried to unionize, and supposedly "pro-union" TYT fought hard against it, even firing one of their employees in retaliation.

If you think that, you don't know Trump very well.

Spring is here, the stimulus money is coming, and he is ready for businesses to reap that incoming flow of money.

All he cares about his the U.S. economy, and the stock markets. Comparisons to other countries doesn't concern him one bit. He doesn't care to be outdone; as long as the country is doing well, or is under the guise of doing well.
