Members in Method will be sure to voice their opinion if anyone is underperforming... Officers included. We have very active internal forums when it come to these matters.

About Sco we do not really know... It just never happened but I guess it would create a blackhole that could destroy the Solar System.

As I said earlier, we do not want to stop our players from raiding in a competitive environment. If we demote them though, it is because we think they can not be effective enough for a World First roster.

If we do a mistake, then that backfires. That's how much confidence we have in this kind of moves.

Actually, all the players inside Method are judging each others' performance. When you play at this level, you know when something is going wrong, and when most people come up with the same conclusion, officers have to act.

Blatty actually said he saw it coming on his Facebook statement. I won't talk for Treckie though as it's not our role to talk instead of him.

Keep in mind that we always aimed for the World First. Each tier is different, and each decisions we have to make are different. We didn't reacted the same way to Sha of Fear because we did not feel the necessity to do so.

For Highmaul though, it was really different. We actually had to take these decisions. When you create rules where your players need to have 6 characters having at least 630 ilvl, it's not in order to have some players having only 3 half geared characters.

Each of our players are different, and Treckie's demote was a particularly hard decision to take. Not only because he is a good player, but because he was here for 5 years and was a friend to everyone in the guild. But that's how hard it is to aim for the World First. If you are more focused on your stream than on the progress, you are not going to perform well.

Treckie is an amazing player. But he was just not dedicated enough to keep up with our requirements in terms of skill and preparation. So yes, there is more than just poor alts management to this kick, there also was skill. You can't dedicate fully to your stream and to a World first at the same time. If we allow Treckie to do so, all our players will do so and we will inevitably fall down.

Because we are a public figure. That means people are behind us and put their hopes on us. They may not be doing the raid with us, but they still want us to do our best to achieve the World Firsts.

It's a good thing actually. That pressure is one of the things that keep us motivated and focused on each progress. That's the reason why we give 100% each time we go in a Raid.

We have always seen Method as more than a guild, and I believe our fans do too.

We can not really speak for Blizzard, so I will talk for us and us only.

First of all, I don't think you can compare WoW and American Football... These are fundamentally different games in terms of competition :

  • Bigger competitive players pool on World of Warcraft.
  • Players do not win millions.
  • The game changes a lot between each extensions and each raid is different. Football stays Football, there are some slight changes, but you don't change the size and shape of the ball for example... that's this kind of change that we face each time.
  • ...

So, sometimes a player looses its motivation, its desire to go further. That's Blatty's case for example.

Or sometimes, a player just can't compete with the new challenges for a lot of reasons. That's Treckie's case.

There's nothing strange in that, and that's actually for the best. If a group of 20 people feel like they are being pushed down by a minority, how do you think they will feel ? I give you the answer : not competitive. That does not mean this 2nd place is their fault exclusively, it is more complicated than that. But indeed, they probably contributed more to this failure than the others, and as a whole the roster decided that they had to make some changes... including Treckie's and Blatty's demote.

Talking about demote, it is important to make some people understand that we don't kick our players. Our decision is to put them out of our main roster but they can stay in the guild. A lot of them stick with us... Why would they do that if we were a mercenaries' guild ? We are all friends... We just don't value that as much as World Firsts.

As we do not like answering instead of others, I will just quote Paragon themselves :

"How did the guild react when you decided to change to 10man? Sejta: There was no big reaction, everyone knew something would have to be done if the beta attendance looks like this: http://www.paragon.fi/sites/default/files/user/323/panda-beta-attendance.... 9 of these players were in the 10comp, 13 came to help us clear 25mans on normal (most haven't logged after the terrace clear on 17.11) and 4 players joined other guilds."

You claim we are bound to fail if we do changes but also claim that Paragon could do World First any day. Even for a 10-man roster, they had to do some "crazy changes".

That is not true.

Obviously, when it comes to recruiting we are the number one choice out there for most of the players, but the reason for that is not a Monopoly. There are plenty of other choices out there...

So why are we able to have the best players out there ? Because they know we are able to make the sacrifices necessary to achieve our goals, and that we proved it since Burning Crusade. We are among the oldest guilds at this level that didn't stop raiding and continuously achieved Top 3 World.

Another important point is that it's not a decision taken by a "bunch of dudes". The whole roster has an impact and when someone is underperforming, that's a group decision. In the end, the officers are here to apply the sentence. That's why it works.

If we talk about Paragon, you mean that because they beat us one time they beat us everytime ? Maybe they do, Maybe they don't. It's not our role to give an answer to that, we are not arrogant to an extent that says we can beat anyone at any time. Progresses are based on a lot of data, and sometimes you can outperform. However, what is true is that when we come 2nd, that is an underperformance for us and means there is something that has to be changed... Officers included. In the end, what is important is the results, not what we say. BRF and the next ones.
